Re: Buy AMD or NVidia GPU for PPD?

While on the subject of GPUs, for I also have been waiting to upgrade my old 6570 until the Core_17 was out of beta testing. In the past, an AMD card required a full cpu core for Core_16, and I have read that NVIDIA cards now need a full core for Core_17 (an NVIDIA issue and not a F@H issue). Does a...

Re: Discussion: what is holding F@h back?

When we make a direct cash contribution to Stanford for Folding, we can take a tax write off. Since we, via folding, make a direct contribution to Stanford is there a way to assign a dollar value per work unit? These work units become intellectual property of the respective lab of the respective uni...

Re: Why are you folding?

I too enjoy computers and tweaking them. I just replaced my old HTPC/Folding mainstay (Althon 64 X2 w/AMD video card) and my new build research priority was tilted heavily towards Folding versus HTPC (although the HTPC functions much better now than with the older system, but who uses a slightyly OC...

Re: Windows 8 preview

kg4, is there a performance gain with Win8, and does it correspond to a performance gain with F@H? Better scheduler, reduced software overhead, etc? Have you heard in any Win8 forums if the AMD FX series is better supported?

Re: PPD Bonus Scheme

Please forgive a novice and possibly naive comment. The PPD, QRB, etc, is a fun way to measure work accomplished; I enjoy watching my points grow (just over 1 million for my team in only 4 years!!). I enjoy upgrading equipment to see how much of an effect it has on point production (four different v...

Re: Huntington's?

The FAH projects related to the above research are between 7700 and 7712. We greatly appreciate the help from all the FAH donors, beta testers, and the rest of the FAH team to make our research on molecular recognition possible. I agree; if possible, it would be nice to know what general disease ty...

It would seen that this particular WU has been credited, along with other WUs I was not aware were missing.

Project: 7716 (Run 14, Clone 1, Gen 0)

Howdy,

My old PC completed said unit and successfully uploaded same at 0402 UTC on 2/4/12; no credit shows for this completed unit under SASinUtah as of 1445 UTC on same date.

Thank you in advance.

Re: folding eletricity

The vast majority of my electricity is coal produced; some is gas turbine generated. Wind power generated in Utah all goes to California; wind power for Utah consumption (have to pay extra) is generated in Idaho; go figure. The problem we have in the United States, as I see it, is the most cost effe...

Project 8001, R63 C2 G69

Interesting thing happened on the way to the forum............

This particular project has a preferred deadline of 1.64 days, roughly 40 hours. Yesterday, this project got up to 96% completion after 15 hours, then terminated, stating that the deadline had passed for this project. Any ideas?
