Re: Project: 6701 (Run 45, Clone 13, Gen 5)

@bruce; The WU in question was returned from a machine that previously returned A3 core WUs and has subsequently returned A3 core WUs. All of these OTHER WUs have been credited to my PassKey Account. During this time-period, I did nothing to change how, or where, my passkey is reported to Stanford/P...

Project: 6701 (Run 45, Clone 13, Gen 5)

Returned the Subject WU to Stanford ~7AM Local Time 6/24/2010. As expected, I received only the Base 921 points DESPITE having processed 24/7 on a 1.83GHz C2D Mac Mini. Something seems to be seriously askew about how PG benchmarks the new WUs despite their claim that they are only trying to "le...

Re: Project: 6701 (Run 10, Clone 13, Gen 9)

I know [Impact]Terminou. I have already completed one(running under OSX) and have a second one in the grinder. When I returned the first one, after Folding 24/7 on the WU, I only got the BASE ~920 points. I am sure that the 2nd one will not receive any better treatment by the PG Point Awarders. Some...

Re: Project: 6701 (Run 10, Clone 13, Gen 9)

It appears that there are several downsides to folding a P6701. It is bad enough that the Project is "structured" so that it seems impossible to obtain Bonus Points but now we have a situation where the Client lost the WU after the need to bail was detected. No points even for partial work...

Points from server 143.89.28.70 are delayed

The subject WU was completed and returned to Stanford on 5/29/10. It has not yet made it's way into the Official Statistics. I would appreciate it if a Mod would check and see whether it has been entered into the "Database". Logfile of the WU finish follows: [03:10:48] Timered checkpoint t...

Re: Setting folding@home viewer as desktop background

I'm only familiar with the OSX version of a F@H viewer and that one takes a lot of cpu capacity to run. That takes away from your Folding capability. In the "early days" there was an F@H Client that ran as a Screensaver. It may still even be available on the site somewhere. It was found to...

Re: Project 60xx failures

It sounds like you are trying to run the PPC with version6 software. If that is the case, you will have to find a version5.xx Client in the "Old Clients" area and download either the Console version (v5.02 , I think) or the Preference Panel version (not sure about the last Client offered)....

Re: Multiple "EARLY_UNIT_END" / "mdrun returned 255" Errors

Possibly you are being affected by the "early fail" problem that is being experienced, in part, by OSX 10.6.3 users that are running with the v2.17 a3core on smp WUs.

This has been recognized by PG as a problem and a correction is in process.

Project: 6050(Run 0, Clone 147, Gen 13)

Another case of an “early Fail” OSX10.6.3/v2.17 WU but this one was a double banger, properly sequenced for maximum effect. I have not had one of these double bangers before. The first delivery of P6050R0C147G13 failed before reaching 1% completion. The Client was not able to write to the Work file ...

Re: Project 6059: (Run 0, Clone 33, Gen 5 )

@bruce; Sorry about the delay in reply but I have been pondering the "fairness" of your diagnosis. I feel the following applies: It has been my experience that approximately half of the "Early Fail" OSX10.6.3/v2.17A3core WUs I encounter are unable to write to the Work Files in a ...

Re: Project 6059: (Run 0, Clone 33, Gen 5 )

@bruce; Your statement does contain a certain universal wisdom. However, the active FOLDERS among us would like an early solution to this problem. I do recognize the effort you have made in moderating the FUROR that exists within the FAH effort. PLEASE do not get the wrong message from my postings. ...

Re: Project 6059: (Run 0, Clone 33, Gen 5 )

@codysluder:

I'm sorry if my Log Snippet was slightly incomplete. I did press "c" and the morbid remains of that WU were returned to Stanford.

I checked the Statistics this morning and found that I had been credited with 4 ( that's FOUR) points.

Not bad, eh what??????

Re: Project: 6051:(Run 0, Clone 130, Gen 4)

@codysluder; Your faith is, if nothing else, admirable..... I have no way of knowing if the PG/Stanford Gurus understand just what is going on in this particular situation. I have no way of knowing just how priorities are sorted out and matched with available resources. I don't come from a backgroun...
