Does the 6.23 Client resolve the "hang on start" problem that was persistent in 6.20? I shifted to the 6.02CLI Client and have continued to experience the "hang on start" problem. It is just more manageable from the command line. I have to assume that the problem was in the fah6.

Make sure you click the file related to your OS, otherwise you will see a text of jibberish!

I downloaded the v6.23 and did a "drop-in" to my Folding@home folder after relocating the present fah6. When I attempted to restart the Client I was given a "Permission Denied" in Terminal window. What am I really supposed to do to make v6.23 viable????

I replaced v6.23 with the fah6 I had relocated and was able to restart the Client. It picked up at the last checkpoint so it does not appear that much has been lost. Nothing gained either. Call it a trade-off......

I love the new client, it fixes many old issues too. I especially like the updated help text including the -smp argument, and the additional configuration options in the -config[only] interface. Very nice

What must be done to the v6.23 fah file after downloading to make it usable on an OSX Mac?? I posted above, on 10/13/2008, in regard to the same situation and was not able to rouse a single reply. I would assume there is an interest in moving these improvements forward but how can that happen if there is no discussion?? In the past, I have seen the comment "No one will run the OSX betas". I think that could be changed it questions would be answered.......

An update of the public download page will be coming shortly.
This client does not have an expiration date.
