SMP on Mac Mini Core Solo ?

Postby Nefarious » Thu Dec 25, 2008 11:28 pm

A member of Team 18 (mrreet2001) reports an unsuccessful install on Mac Mini Solo

Does this not work on Core Solo mac minis? For the life of me I can't get it started on the computer.

No. It will not work. The minimum requirement for SMP on an Intel Mac is a Core Duo. A Core Solo does not have SMP (Symmetric Multiprocessing) capability and would not make deadlines. The minimum for the SMP client would be a Core Duo 1.66GHz, and even that would be pushing it to make final deadlines if it is used heavily during the day.
