I tried reinstalling it already and restarting the client... Neither worked... It's been like this for 2 or more days... What do I do???

The script has installed an old version of the FAH client... most of the units now require version 6.29 or later as that version is required to use the new a3 core.

Ok... Weird things happened when I tried to install 6.29... I edited the script to download 6.29... All good... Now the thing is it says something about needing some library (I think... I deleted it)... And yes I got the 32-Bit library already... So the first time I didn't notice it gave me this error right after I configured the user name, and stuff... So I tried to start it nothing happened, so I entered the command to stop it, then start it... It worked, so I left for a while... When I came back my OS had crashed and said the Power Management is corrupted and wouldn't boot into Ubuntu, so I went into Windows, deleted the partition, and reinstalled... Tried it again... And I saw the error... So to prevent wasting time I just completely removed it... < That was a mouth full...

I know... I think it might be and error with Ubuntu Lucid? Since I did download... My friend also had the same error message... He said it worked fine in previous editions of Ubuntu... But he might of just missed some this time? But ya... I installed a 32-Bit lib

I did edited the script, so where it says $tarball = 6.09 is now 6.29... That's about all I changed... Unless there extra lines to install 6.29?

Ok I haven't tried this yet... But is this a fix or a install script... If it's a fix, I just run this then after install the client?

It 's not an install script fix, but a 'run' fix.
The SMP Client as-is won't run in Lucid because of the libc issue.
This issue is circumvented by the running of nscd (and configuring the nscd service start at boot, see EDIT of 21 July / same post)

Ya nvm... I got it working... Forgot to say... It worked... I think I might make a script to make this process more simply and easy for beginners and others that don't get it... Hopefully might get more folding users... Who knows, might get more i7s out there folding... Edit: Work on it tomorrow when the WU is done...

Is this normal? My SMP Client (Ubuntu) seems to be slower then my Uniprocessor Client (Windows)... I only run one Uniprocessor Client although it's a dual core processor...

1) you can't compare the two / it 's totally different territory.

2) a dual processor is at the edge or under these days; are you sure you are going to finish WU's within the given deadlines ?
What hardware are you running on and at which speed(s) ?

If you run HFM.net (monitor) or similar, you can get a really good prediction of what the final time will be and in those apps you can even compare with the WU specific deadlines ...
