By the way, the server seems to be operational.

We anticipate swapping over -bigadv work units to use only the new client in the coming weeks.

Yes, I did some time ago. But just now I've got a big one again so it's all okay.

Well I've updated all my pc's to 6.29, Ubuntu 9.04 and VM's. Now I'm picking up p5101's and p6021's using -smp 7 -bigadv. Problem is when I catch 5101's it only uses 4 cores instead of 7 like my flags say for it to. Is there any way to force it to use the other 3 cores I've specified? Sure takes a drop in PPD from 12,000 to 2,400 from the bigadv to a 5101.

Using Win 7 64-bit, i7 860 2.80GHz (turbo boost puts it at 2.94GHz), 8GB RAM.

No way to use the other cores, the a1 core is limited to 4 processes.

I too have not been getting any ELs since Late Saturday.
Maybe tomorrow I will just do a reinstall.
I'm using vmPlayer and Linux on two Win7 machines.

As we previously announced, we are now requiring client versions >=6.28 for bigadv work units. If you haven't upgraded your clients, please do so.
(At the moment, we are still running core A2 bigadv work units and not yet core A3 ones, so windows clients can't run them yet. We will be transitioning to core A3 in the near future.)

After a recent computer crash, my client which had been running a3's with no problems began doing only a1 cores. The config was all OK.

Finally, I killed it and deleted the work directory, queue.dat, etc.

After restarting, I'm again getting only a3 core work units.

So the crash apparently corrupted something that resulted in only getting a1 work units.

Went from under 2000 PPD with a1 core back to over 5000 PPD with a3 core.
