Missing Bigadv points??

Hi there all
First time post here.

Just completed my first Bigadv 2684
The credit points in HF looked very good 56k+
I only got 8955..

I thought i'd done the 10 required in a2/a3 or have i?
Been told by a fellow Bit-tech folder one of you Moderators can help.
Or is there away to check?

You can click on the Official stats link at the top of the forum pages, then double click on Donor Statistics, enter your folding name and passkey. That may tell you how many WUs you've completed with a passkey which might help.

If you're using HFM and have a spreadsheet program you can click on Help and View HFM.NET data files and import CompletedUnits.csv after which you can sort the file and count the a2,a3 units you've completed since you started using a passkey.

The Mods can often help you, but it's best to provide the Project/Run/Clone/Gen numbers of the WU that you're asking about. Sometimes we can figure out which WU you mean (as I was able to do this time) and sometimes we can't.

The problem with this particular WU is that you did not return it before the Preferred Deadline. When that happens, you get base points only -- no bonus. (See the FAQ on bonus points.) The WU was reissued and your work had to be duplicated by someone else.

I did wonder if i went over deadline - but HF didn't state this.
Had 4 power trips this morning & this set me in a mess.
had to re-fire system and start from a percentage.
That's a lot of points to lose.
Oh well to the next lot.

What are you running these on? You might think about overclocking (or increasing your overclock) if you're runnning too close to the deadlines.

I am running overclocked
@4ghz on i7
Been having problem with a stable clock so had it down at 3.8Ghz
This is also not a 24/7 folding machine.
Its all rounder.
Should of been able to hit the last deadline without all the power trips - that completely messed it up

The actual bonus is computed based on the server clock from the download time until the WU has been returned (i.e.- the total time that it was actually assigned to your machine).

HFM does not include any kind of estimate for how long it will take (or did take) to upload a WU. It bases the estimated bonus on a predicted completion time until the WU is actually completed and then uses the actual completion time. Obviously if you don't manage to upload it promptly, your bonus will continue to decrease but HFM knows nothing about that.

so always allow a good amount of free time at the end for upload

Normally the bigadv WU result is 100 MB file which needs to be successfully uploaded to the Servers before the Preferred Deadline. Time taken to upload the WU Result will vary according to internet connections. On my ~10KB/s upload, it takes ~2.5 hours to upload hence I have to finish at least 3 hours before the Preferred Deadline to make sure that I get bonus points.
