Failure to upload completed WU's

Postby toaster8 » Sat Aug 02, 2008 3:12 pm

I have five WU's ready for upload and this is what I get:
+ Attempting to send results
[14:46:42] - Reading file work/wuresults_07.dat from core
[14:46:42] (Read 26790658 bytes from disk)
[14:46:42] Connecting to http://171.64.122.86:8080/
[14:48:16] Posted data.
[14:48:16] Initial: 0000; - Uploaded at ~278 kB/s
[14:48:16] - Averaged speed for that direction ~340 kB/s
[14:48:16] - Server does not have record of this unit. Will try again later.
[14:48:16] Could not transmit unit 07 to Collection server; keeping in queue.
[14:48:16] + Sent 0 of 2 completed units to the server
[14:48:16] + Closed connections

I am running Increase (latest version) on my MacPro 8-core. I updated the FAH after reading Jean's post. Does anyone have any ideas. If you need more info, please let me know - I don't want to lose all thise completed WU's!

This is just the Colelction Server ... you should post what's before in the log related to the regular Work Server ...

Was this WU completed with the old version (pre 1.95) of A2 core :?:

I think this issue has been reported in the Linux SMP forum, but I don't in which thread exactly ...

No I had updated the core long before this WU (and the other Wu's too) - I have asked for help on the Mac Forum as well and seem to be getting to just have patience answer. Which I don't mind as long as the work is still useful. The WU's are passing their deadlines and so I just hope they aren't being dumped on someone else since I did have them completed in time. It seems that maybe the server is offline - if someone could check that would be great.

Seeing the same problem. Mac Pro. a2 core. 2 units that I can't send. Both are P2662 Run 2, Clone 303, Gen 4
"Server does not have record of this unit. Will try again later."

Get this reply every time I try -send all.

Well I am up to nine WU's ready for upload and the oldest has tried 43 times. I am really getting no direction from anyone as to the problem let alone a solution. Patience is about the only advise I have received so far. I am wondering if I should just delete those WU's and any more that fail to upload. By now they have passed their deadlines and would have been re-issued so it's unlikley the science would suffer. However, I don't like wasting CPU time and if no one can offer any solutions, my solution would be to shut this down until this problem is corrected. I have already taken a 4-core Windows unit off the project as the SMP Beta is ridiculously difficult to install and run.

toaster8 and Slash_2CPU, if you were to list the WUs that have not uploaded,
perhaps one of the fine mods or admins could check to see if they have truly not been uploaded.

I have had the experience, several times now, that the WU did in fact upload,
but for some reason did not get removed from the queue afterwards.

I am not saying that this is positively what is going on in your case, but it would be worth a check.

In my case(s), each time I had to delete the work folder and queue.dat files, in order to correct the situation.

If you look above, I gave an example of one. They are all P2662. Kind of disappointing that we haven't even got a reply on this, aside from "server is up and running." Well, it's obviously not running right. Then they wonder why no one beta tests their Mac clients. What's the point in testing if no one looks at the results of the test anyway?

Same cable modem, same router, my WinXP boxes running SMP and my 2 nVidia GPU clients all update fine. Posting this on the MacPro, so it's obvious at least port 80 works.

I can say that I'm not getting credited for the WU's completed. No sign of any of the last 6 1920-point WU's the Mac Pro complerted, including the 4 backed up and the 2 that expired 4 hours ago.

I have been posting on this forum and the Team MacOSX Forum and I think another folder (Goldis) may have shown me my errors. toTow - I apologize, I didn't understand what you were referring to when you said to check the version of core a2 I was running. I assumed you meant the latest client. I am still not sure how to check the core version but I deleted the one I had and a new one downloaded. How do I check the core version? Also, wouldn't it make more sense to have the latest core download automatically? I am hoping that this corrects the issues I am having, if it does I owe an apology to a few people. If it doesn't, well at least I am getting some responses for things to try.

Slash, that is one WU, not two. I did look above.
As usual, I read the entire thread.
Pardon me for trying to be helpful.

Core version is written to fahlog on each startup of a wu.
