windows 5.91/5.92 clients extended, now UNSUPPORTED

The expiration for the previous 5.91/5.92 windows SMP clients was November 2; we have re-built the clients with an expiration of July 4, 2009. Binary drop-in downloads are available at:
http://www.stanford.edu/~kasson/folding ... MP-591.exe
and
http://www.stanford.edu/~kasson/folding ... MP-592.exe

We are now moving this client to UNSUPPORTED status.

The 6.23 Windows SMP client greatly improves EUE reporting and is generally stable. There are a few cases in which problems have been reported with the client (particularly proxy authentication), but we would recommend it as the solution for most users. A smaller number of users are attached to the 5.9x client for various reasons (including the aforementioned proxy issues). Given the EUE reporting issues prior to 6.23 that are now fixed in the current release, providing ongoing support for older Windows SMP clients is problematic. At the same time, we would like to accommodate the desires of our donors as much as is feasible.

We will also be posting a 6.23r1 client with an extended deadline -> July 4, 2009.

We have further extended the 5.91/5.92 UNSUPPORTED SMP clients to expire on July 4, 2010. Refreshed drop-in downloads are available at the URL's given above. We anticipate that these clients will become obsolete (and may not have work available) sometime before the new expiration date. Please watch for new client announcements.
