Advertising Campaign

Post by theteofscuba »

To go along with the official launch of v7, any thoughts on a google adsense advertising campaign? Any ideas for a landing page?

Last I checked, it wasn't really that expensive to advertise. It just needs to be seeded with the right people you want to advertise to. We have to find out what Potential folding@home users will be searching for on google -- what queries would the typical folding@home user make on google?

Oh, well not THAT simple. Even if they clicked the ad, it doesn't mean they will download and run the client. This landing page has to make the difference between making the visitor interested and downloading, or leaving the page disinterested, and never to think of it again.

I think word of mouth is possibly the most effective method of advertising, perhaps with the occasional big news feature, i.e. the slashdot effect.
