Re: config.xml utility ?
As I understand it, at installation and startup time the v8 client reads config.xml and uses that for some settings. The config.xml file is not updated with any changes made within the v8 client through the web interface. Not all v7 settings in config.xml are compatible with v8. At this time there a...

Re: Does anyone know what happens to unfinished work units?
Yes, they send the WU to someone else. The WU is started from the beginning, there are no provisions for passing on partially completed WUs.

Re: [tuto] 8.3.5, openSUSE Tumbleweed, installation
I switched to the beta SW too. "fah-client-bastet" version 8.3.8 is available for several openSUSE distributions at https://software.opensuse.org/package/fah-client-bastet It's pretty much untested, feedback is welcome! Have fun Curiosity Note that v8.3.8 is not a beta version, it is stil...

Re: Trying to merge new and old account....
JimboPalmer is correct. A decision was made in the early days of the F@h project that once credited, WUs and the points would remain assigned to the username and team they were submitted under.

Re: FAHClient fails to find working OpenCL Platform
A fix someone came up with was posted here - https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=287642. It appeared to be a conflict with the included C++ library from what they reported as fixing the issue.

Re: v8.3.5 No points or WUs getting credited
https://stats.foldingathome.org/donor/id/28594 states "I have earned 5,724,229,430 points by contributing 30,046 work units. My work unit was last recorded 29 minutes ago" If that report is from the web client, best I can guess is that either you are using a different passkey than before o...

Re: too high RAM usage makes machine almost unusable
FAH_Client = ca. 7 GB That looks like a memory leak problem. FAH-Client doesn't do any actual WU processing, that is done in the folding cores. It just handles logging, downloads and uploads connected to WU processing. Which OS is this running on? I don't see any memory leak on my macOS systems, fa...

Re: Passkey Server not working?
The passkey is coming from a different server than the one which handles this forum. There have been problems in the past with some mail servers blocking emails from the passkey server. That may be a configuration issue on either end, but I just tested the passkey server now and got my passkey in un...

Re: FahCore_a8.exe application crash.
You will probably hav to look in your system logs to find what error is connected with the FAHCore_a8.exe crashing. All of the errors you hav posted are related to the client process failing to connect to servers. Those are usually seen when FAHClient attempts to connect and the internet connection ...
