Re: Losing WUs on restart?

Yes, I'm using 8.4.9. Thanks for confirming current behavior, but then it seems the new client didn't implement something important, which the old, desktop one was handling fine. And it's really a couple of lines of code to block a restart in Win32 through the API (ShutdownBlockReasonCreate) until ...

Re: Merging with my old (pre-passkey) account?

Which documentation are you looking at? Usernames are not unique as they were never registered. It just happens in this case that the username you are using is unique. However in my case I know 3 other persons have in the past used the same username as I use and did so at same time I was folding. An...

Re: fahctl state deadline translation please

Those values are probably in seconds remaining for the deadline, and seconds since the WU was downloaded for runtime. I haven't installed fahctl on my system, but many time values are reported in seconds, to convert to a date/time format just requires knowing when the WU started.

Re: Is it possible to build a Raspberry Pi cluster and have it run multiple folding@home projects at the same time?

You can use a Raspberry Pi 4 or better for CPU folding. Just not as a cluster. But then again you can't use other systems such as desktops or laptops as a cluster either. There may be no WUs available at times for Raspberry Pi due to size, but they are supported using Linux. As for GPU usage, at thi...

Re: Is it possible to build a Raspberry Pi cluster and have it run multiple folding@home projects at the same time?

The interconnects between cluster nodes are too slow for use with the F@h processing. Even with faster ethernet, they are too slow. Processor to processor interconnects on a single chip or motherboard are fast enough. Those are several magnitudes faster.

Re: Slow eligibility for QRB?

WUs downloaded with no passkey or an invalid entry will not earn QRB even if the passkey was updated before the WU finished and was uploaded. The same if username or team entries change between download and upload of a completed WU. As for the bonus page and passkeys, it and the entire stats system ...

Re: Missing stats

We have heard back from the developer, he found that sometime years ago a piece of code was put in for the stats database code to not accept unicode characters. The reason for this is no longer documented or remembered. That caused WUs submitted by users with unicode characters in their usernames to...

Re: Intel Arc Battlemage B580 for folding?

Usually it would be the latest version available from the Intel support site, not one downloaded through Windows Update. But I would defer to whatever muziqaz recommends based on his testing of one.

Re: Intel Arc Battlemage B580 for folding?

The B580 is still listed as supported in the GPUs files. Has the video driver been updated recently, especially if you are running Windows. The MS Windows Update will replace working drivers with newer versions without OpenCL support, just the video support.

Re: Old GPU struggling to not get cut off by newer GPUs?

Is there a way to look at the logs for previous WU? The current active WU log is easy to see, but it doesn't seem to be available for previous WU. The client rotates the log daily as I recall for current v8 versions. It retains the last 99(?) logs in a folder named logs in the F@h client data direc...

Re: 7.6.21 web control points "Loading"

Having seen everything from v8.1 to the current v8.4, there is a lot present that was not there even in v8.3. The v8.4 Web Control interface is much more configurable, and provides a lot of WU tracking features. The default settings are a bit barebones for displaying current WU info, but additional ...

Re: AMD Radeon E9173

Welcome to the folding support forum. This GPU may already be supported if the PCI device ID matches what I was able to look up. AMD used the same number for a range of cards sharing the same GPU chip. The information I found online for the E9173 was that its device ID was 0x1002:0x699f . That is al...

Re: Where did the Web Control screen go from previous versions?

The code for the Web Control is open source, someone with programming skills could take that as a starting point to create a different version. And some of what you mention wanting to see can be reached with just a few clicks from the Stats tab of the v8.4 Web Control. From the Account Settings the ...

Please upgrade to V8.4.9

It is strongly recommended to upgrade from V8.3 clients to the current public release version v.8.4.9. There have been some significant fixes, especially for clients running on Windows.

Re: Enterprise Support?

Well they just moved the v8.4.9 version from beta to being the pubic release. My understanding is the developer is going to start on a v8.5 version that may get released for beta testing sometime in the future. But that is the future, and no guarantees on when it might happen. In any case I created ...
