Re: Passkey Server not working?
The passkey is coming from a different server than the one which handles this forum. There have been problems in the past with some mail servers blocking emails from the passkey server. That may be a configuration issue on either end, but I just tested the passkey server now and got my passkey in un...

Please provide the PCI ID for the card, there are already several variants listed in the whitelist.

There are already several entries for the GTX 1060 6 GB, if they have released yet another variant please provide the PCI ID for the card.

Re: FahCore_a8.exe application crash.
You will probably hav to look in your system logs to find what error is connected with the FAHCore_a8.exe crashing. All of the errors you hav posted are related to the client process failing to connect to servers. Those are usually seen when FAHClient attempts to connect and the internet connection ...

Re: 7800 XT Disabled in client
Are you using the video drivers from MS Windows Update or ones downloaded direct from AMD? Or did Windows Update do an update on them after you installed from an AMD download? MS just supplies the video driver component, not the OpenCL support needed for folding. So if this is the case try reinstall...

Re: iGPU is not used
Okay, the log shows what I expected and the iGPU is definitely not supported. v7's log would at least also show the unsupported GPU under the hardware configuration section. With v8.3 web control it may show up on the machine configuration page grayed out, hovering a mouse cursor over it would give ...

Re: iGPU is not used
Please post the beginning log section to confirm the hardware that the client detects. But if I looked up the correct iGPU information, the UHD Graphics 730 is not supported for folding. It is from a generation of iGPUs that Intel removed hardware support of FP64 processing and provided it with soft...

Re: Headless Linux Box
One thing that was not pointed out when this approach was mentioned back in 2021 is that the cpu-usage option is a legacy holdover from a decade ago. It was only supported by the folding cores that used a single processor for calculations. With the cores meant for multi-threaded processing it only l...

Re: HowTo Question: Convert from 7.6 machine to Beta 8.3
You can just install 8.3 over the existing 7.6 install. The installer will read the config.xml file for settings and use most of them. v8 stores its settings inside a client.db file instead of config.xml. The 7.6 FAHClient executable will be replaced with the v8 fah-client and FAHControl will be rem...

Re: Some errors and no points from GPU workload
Besides a system sleeping, I have seen clock skew reported on a machine that had I/O stall. In this case the ribbon cable connecting the hard drive to the logic board of a laptop had gone bad, replacing the cable fixed the problem. There were reports in th system log of delayed reads and writes to t...

Re: Using Intel HD Graphics 630 GPU and temperature
A - The HD Graphics 630 is at about the minimum Intel iGPU that can complete WUs on time, but there often are none of the smaller projects they can do available. It took specific drivers with full OpenCL support downloaded from Intel to allow folding on one of these in the past, I am not certain wha...
