Re: Not problem, only suggestion. Update stats server

The stats table (https://stats.foldingathome.org/os) has been static/stuck for a couple of months now.

Re: OS Stats not updating?

Still exactly the same numbers, although the "Last updated" and "DB date" are current.

Re: Non-FAH: Anton 2: ASIC for Molecular Dynamics Simulation

I don't think Anton2/x is intended to be generally available. It's a very niche piece of hardware, that in my opinion loses the mass-market appeal compared to Xheon Phi. Still, the Anton project started long before Xeon Phi was available and has apparently got some really good results (otherwise ver...

Non-FAH: Anton 2: ASIC for Molecular Dynamics Simulation

Anton 2: A 2nd-Generation ASIC for Molecular Dynamics Simulation 1 CPU = 66 cores at 1,6 GHz. 2.5 Tb/s on-chip bandwidth. Over 250 billion interactions/s per CPU. Big emphasis on interchip communication was an eye-opening for me. Obvious, of course. :) Some info regarding relevant strengths of F@H ...

Re: Blog post: "Unified GPU/SMP benchmarking scheme ..."

Unfortunately for FAH, the state of OpenCL support is generally poor. Nvidia's OpenCL implementation really stinks. I don't believe they've even touched it since the early fermi days, at least, no more so than necessary to have it run (somewhat) on new hardware. I suspect they're trying to play poli...

Re: Blog post: "Unified GPU/SMP benchmarking scheme ..."

Unified GPU/SMP benchmarking scheme implemented The unified GPU/SMP benchmarking scheme will be rolled out today on FAH. All the future GPU projects would now be benchmarked using the new scheme. Most of the existing GPU projects have been re-benchmarked to reflect the changes in the benchmarking s...

Re: EU grid: 200,000 desktop computers

Despite their page being a counterexample of a good website, I managed to find at least some concrete information:
Availability/Reliability results for August 2010: 68303 physical, 198676 logical CPUs (2,9 cores per CPU on average).
Some kind of applications database.

Thorough overview of HPC domain, including programmable GPUs

List of documents: http://www.prace-project.eu/documents/public-deliverables-1/ There's everything : networking, I/O, "approaches" (CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs...), 15 different programming languages/platforms from higher level to VHDL, benchmarks, productivity ("time to program", "li...

Stats graph on Stanford page

http://folding.stanford.edu/English/Stats
The Stats page has a graph of active CPUs. The last data point is 2008; I think updating to 2009/2010 is in order ;).
Happy new year!
