Re: New faster-spreading COVID-19 variant effect current wor

For question 2, as far as I know FAH has done no work on vaccines. They're mainly focused on finding druggable sites in the virus' proteins and and developing an antiviral (the COVID Moonshot project).

Re: What about this imaginary, unsupported Intel GPU I have?

I do believe the Intel GPUs are still in beta, so you'll need to continue to use the beta flag.

There is limited support for Intel GPUs: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=36512

Re: I obtain Covid Folding although I have cancer in preferr

The beauty of FAH is that the project is tackling many different diseases and challenges in protein folding.

Great news! If I'm correct, this will be the first RNA vaccine ever. It's exciting to think about all the advances in science!

Re: How to get smaller WUs?

I'm folding with 4 cores and haven't encountered a TPF of more than 6 minutes, this seems a big difference.

Do you wait after the WU has completed 1-2% of the work?

Re: CPU folding is hardly worth any points

It also depends on your CPU. I have a laptop with an i7-3520m processor, it gets around 11,000 PPD. My desktop with an i7-7700K gets 90-100,000 PPD. This gets to the other part of what you posted, you said your GPU is folding "FASTER". Without defining what it is doing, you can't actually...

The current sprint is finished, I assume the progress bar on the main page is bugged. They're already preparing the next sprint.

Re: CUDA Update to FAHCore_22

All core 22 projects should use CUDA. First, AMD and Intel cards do not run CUDA. Second, Nvidia cards using the Fermi micro-architecture can't use CUDA, so need to be OpenCL Third, other Nvidia cards should be able to use CUDA, unless there are thermal issues. (over clocking, bad air flow, etc.) G...

True! All core 22 projects should use CUDA.

Re: The flop count dropped down to 0.2 exaFLOP?

Thank you ajm. So the claim that Folding was a exaflop capable cluster was based on a miscalculation on an order of at least 5 times the real value providing that they got it right this time. The way I understand it is that we did have an exaflop in april-may; but the number of folders has reduced ...

Re: What is simulated in 1343x projects?

What I find interesting is that FAH seems to have moved beyond its initial charter of studying misfolding, and is now studying how ligands fit into the pockets of a protease. It must make use of the same computational techniques. So they have broadened their horizons. Beyond that, I don't know anyt...
