Re: Incredibly slow GTX 745 GPU
Might be worth your while to try the "max-packet-size" = "small" setting for your GPU slot. That way your GPU would get only older core_15 work. Methinks you'd need a faster GPU to benefit from Quick Return Bonus. See http://www.linuxforge.net/bonuscalc2.php for reference - a 18:...

Re: GTX960 only 31K PPD?
Welcome to the forum, AOrsini. Without more info - like log - we can only guess. First thing coming to mind is new or mistyped passkey and/or username, causing a new no-QRB qualification period for said combination. You may also get older core_15 WUs occasionally. Those have no QRB, thus earning muc...

Re: Bay Trail and Folding
I'm guessing that the Chrome version isn't able to draw on the added features and powers of the i7 type cores and so it is handicapped less. From NaCl log: main.js:77 DEBUG: :-) G R O M A C S (-: main.js:77 DEBUG: Groningen Machine for Chemical Simulation main.js:77 DEBUG: :-) VERSION 4.6.5 (-: IIR...

Re: Laptop folding
For anything besides Full power, there's no GPU folding until the display power management kicks in.

Re: GTX 280 won't work :(
Well, you could try v6 client with -forcegpu nvidia_fermi to get core_15 work (only). But you should watch it closely for some time, just to be sure that the GPU can fold properly. The v6 client won't get core_17 or newer work which wouldn't fold on a pre-Fermi GPU.

Re: GPUs stuck on READY
You would only need a second GPU if you wanted to run both monitors from that, and dedicate 100% of the 750 Ti to folding. True. However, the 2nd one could be a budget GPU like a 730 with GDDR5 - low wattage, support fo multiple displays (DVI+HDMI+VGA) and compatible with latest and greatest driver...

Re: GPUs stuck on READY
9500GT is too old to complete the benchmark - it's too old for core17 WUs as well. But "FahBench --display-devices" is able to detect the device, thus providing useful troubleshooting info. If you want to do something useful with 9500GT - in addition to connecting the display to it - do th...

Re: GPUs stuck on READY
I suppose that's vague enough for a HW-agnostic forum like FF. Dare I ask... does it require external (6pin) PCIE power or not?

Re: GPUs stuck on READY
The great thing about having two GPUs is that you can pause just the one connected to your display and use the computer for daily grind without lag, while the other GPU keeps crunching at full blast. I have a system with a 750 Ti and I don't notice any lag. That's no guarantee, of course, since it ...

Have you tried the FAHClient-only tarball releases? Available at https://fah.stanford.edu/projects/FAHCl ... llReleases Never mind the "Beta" bit in the link, 7.4.4 is the official version these days. Not too different from v6 console client, just "tar xjvf ..." in your home dire...

Re: GPUs stuck on READY
OK, found the rail config for EA-380D , and looks like you have to be a bit more careful than I thought. 12V2 is CPU only, and is 12Vx15A == 180W. So you can stick with the CPU overclock if you like. Bad news is 12V1 - 12Vx17A == 204W. Not enough headroom for a 960 + 750Ti (120W + 60W == 180W), give...

Re: GPUs stuck on READY
If the PSU is specifically EA-380 , it could certainly handle a 750Ti (max 12Vx17A = 204W for both 12V rails, max 324W combined ). You actually might want a version which does have the external 6pin PCIE power connector, that gives better headroom for overclocking if you're so inclined. Note that va...
