Re: Power requirements - GPUs cutting out
Each GTX570OC when not over-clocked pulls 35 amps at full load (benched with FurMark) with two cards 12V*(35A + 35A) = 420W + 420W = 840W... seriously? FurMark is vicious, but 840W total? I thought 75W + 2x150W (mobo + 2xPCIE 8pin cables) was the spec'd max for a single card. Well... dual GPU cards...

Re: New to folding! Hello!
CPU:6 is good. -1 (autodetect) defaults to gpu-index=0, so the client isn't saving the default value to config.xml. However, it is possible that the client got the two GPU slots mixed up. Doesn't matter on a fully dedicated setup since all Fermi+ NVidia FahCores fold the same way, but since the 750T...

Re: Possible To Fold with GTX Titan and GTX Titan Black (No
Thanks, I did. :) Some further suggestions; see if you can use the 2600K CPU's iGPU for display (browsing, mail, videos etc). That way the two Titans can fold pretty much uninterrupted and you'll get a lag-free display for daily grind. And/or go crazy and try installing a 3rd GPU to #7. Don't bother...

Re: Possible To Fold with GTX Titan and GTX Titan Black (No
As long as you make sure that the GPUs are powered from different rails ( see http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?na ... ry&reid=89 ), I don't foresee any problems folding with both of them. Folding doesn't need/use SLI, the GPUs fold independently. You'll also want to check the PCIE configurat...

Re: Problems with GPU folding, is my card not fast enough?
As for flags, there is currently none usable to indicate the desire to get smaller GPU WU's. Persons with similar cards may comment on whether a 610M is capable of handling currently available projects. No flags in client v7, but GPU client v6 will get only older core15 work for Fermi and newer NVi...

Re: Nvidia GeForce 340.52 WHQL drivers
Hmh... I've had some problems after upgrading to the 340 driver. Nothing too serious, and too early to call the new driver the culprit. However, later on this week I'm reverting to older drivers and see if certain intermittent weird things shall disappear. EDIT: I noticed some weird UI snags with ol...

Re: Suspending/resuming GPU core processes
I'm assuming the driver will send whatever is left in the folding queue to the GPU and store the returned results somehow, and FahCore will process them further once it gets resumed. Simple enough in theory, but I can imagine a number of things going wrong with said assumption. Deadlocks, race condi...

Re: Falling User/TF count
Possibly seasonal fluctuation. Some people pause folding during summer to avoid extra heat or strain on their air conditioning, for example. Also, FAH might have some corporate/institutional donors which fold for a set period of time or a specific goal. One such example of corporate donation is HPCS...

Re: Is There A "Simple" Way To Explain Protein Folding?
Just in case you aren't familiar with the Wikipedia article yet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folding_at_home
Do you consider it to be overly technical, overly simplified or just about right? Too long / too short?

Suspending/resuming GPU core processes
I was wondering if it would be safe (no risk of data corruption, deadlocks or hangs) if I simply suspended/resumed GPU FahCore process(es) if I needed to pause GPU folding momentarily? Sometimes it seems a bit excessive to go through a full-blown GPU slot pause/unpause cycle and start over from prev...

Re: Deadline/ETA mismatch with GPU WUs
If not, they should be with sleeping and hibernating all disabled. Good catch. Obviously sleep and hibernate will cause clock skew warnings in the client. More importantly, sleep/hibernate only preserves the memory and CPU state. Not so with GPU(s), sleep/hibernate will more or less reset the GPU s...

Re: Deadline/ETA mismatch with GPU WUs
Looking at the R250X Time Per Frame, it shouldn't have any problems returning WUs before Timeout even if you only folded for a few hours per day. However, there seems to be something weird going on with your system clock: ******************************* Date: 2014-07-31 *****************************...

Re: 171.67.108.11 & 171.67.108.21 down
We've been working to back up that machine and get all of the data off. I think the RAID is about to go and we'll retire that server. With it, that probably means the retirement of core11. Would it be OK to force pre-Fermi GPUs to do core15 work? I know core15 is on the way out as well, but at leas...

Re: Cpus running, 2 GPUs failing
I'm pretty sure the autodetect is getting gpu-index/cuda-index/opencl-index values mixed up once again. Try setting them manually for each GPU slot - viewtopic.php?f=67&t=19989&p=199379#p199379 for instructions.
