Why does the date appear in the console window sometimes?

Hi there.
I have FAH set to show the console window because I like to know what it's doing. and how fast a work unit is going.
sometimes, the date appears in the results.
Why does this happen? what does it mean?
Thanks.

Hi.
When you change gpu options, where are the settings saved to, the registry? or a file?
Thanks.

Re: What is the best Nvidia video card to get to fold the fastest?

seems I downloaded the wrong version, I had to choose standalone. This time it installed, but because it only works on Nvidia cards, I can't test the GUI interface. Back to the drawing board again.

Re: What is the best Nvidia video card to get to fold the fastest?

I wish I could try out the GUI interface of EVGA Precision X1 with NVDA screen reader but I don't have an Nvidia card yet, and the install process halted and was incomplete, with an error about fan mode. My concern is that I'll pay big bucks for a Nvidia card and then find out whatever the software ...

Re: What is the best Nvidia video card to get to fold the fastest?

Hi there. Is there another application that does what MSI afterburner does? I use a screen reader and when I start up the application, I can't use it because the screen is rendered in a way that screen readers can't make sense of. out of interest, the Screen reader I use is free and open source, and...

What is the best Nvidia video card to get to fold the fastest?

Hello.
I'm going to exchange my Intel video card for an NVIDIA, and I am wondering which one is the best to use for both gaming and folding?
I had a Geforce 9600 gt on a PC many many years ago, but I'm sure they have come forward in leaps and bounds since then.
What do you suggest?
Thanks.

longest work unit to date.

Hi. Project: 12413 (Run 51, Clone 1, Gen 26) is running really slowly. I don't remember other work units on this new computer in this project running more than about 7 hours. This WU looks like it will take the whole day. Did I do anything wrong, and can I speed up the work unit? I'm running on 16 c...

Re: A strange work unit that crashed as soon as it ran.

but why would they want to do that? make a work unit fail by design as soon as it ran?
that would be crazy making.

Re: folding starts fast, then slows down after a minute

I always start up FAH manually. As I said before, the experiment I tried last night did not involve FAH, I simply loaded up task manager without loading up FAH, and clicked on performance, and saw the GHZ go down after a minute. So the machine is "running on boost" as you put it, even with...

Re: folding starts fast, then slows down after a minute

wow. you're right, I rebooted my machine and without starting up FAH, I opened up task manager and clicked on the performance tab and within a minute or so, the CPU speed dropped from 5.11ghz to 4.2x GHZ. This is really curious.

Re: folding starts fast, then slows down after a minute

For windows 10/11 users, try this experiment. 1. power down your computer. 2. turn it back on and wait for the system to finish booting 3. Immediately, after windows 10/11 loads, start FAH with a unit that is CPU, not GPU. 4, grab a radio and put it near the machine, listen to the noise that folding...
