Re: Suffering from constant crashes on core 21 WUs!

Which projects are being assigned to you? If you're configured with the default setting for client-type, then no, you can't prevent those assignments. If you have set that value, removing the setting will reduce those assignments to a rare case. There's something odd somewhere- Utopia-Phoenix says ...

Since posting the OP I've also had a single error from 171.67.108.204,but (so far!) just the one.

Re: Bad WU: Project: 9704 (Run 46, Clone 14, Gen 99)

Ah, sorry, I misread your question. My bad. I realised when I read this bit: Also, it does almost nothing to change the PPD. The VRAM isn't overclocked- it's a GTX 980 under Linux and I can't change it, If I could I would probably have underclocked it by now, there's another thread on here somewhere...

Re: Bad WU: Project: 9704 (Run 46, Clone 14, Gen 99)

Is your VRAM overclocked? Yes, but in the nearly 9 months I've had the card it has successfully completed more than 1700 WUs (>450 Core_21's, ~120 P9704's) on the same settings and (to the best of my recollection) this was the first time that particular error has occurred on any WU. So it seemed mo...

Re: P9625-9643 and bad states- some observations

As I said in my OP, there appears to be a periodic/cumulative effect involved. From a WU that has just failed: 09:26:38:WU01:FS01:Received Unit: id:01 state:DOWNLOAD error:NO_ERROR project:9634 run:1 clone:25 gen:31 core:0x21 unit:0x00000029ab436c9b5609bee39c568421 09:26:38:WU01:FS01:Starting 09:26:...

Re: P9625-9643 and bad states- some observations

With my experience (GTX 970) the linux driver version 346.96 for folding is the fastest and most stable version (Linux mint mate 17.2). I'd go along with that- 2x GTX 980's, same OS, a few % faster in terms of TPF, no noticeable change in BS frequency. FWIW I'm only having problems with WUs from a ...

Re: Best driver in Mint for GTX-760

Grandpa_01 wrote:346.96 are the best Linux drivers I know of at this time
When I last updated my drivers I went from 346.35 to 355.11, which seemed more stable but gave a drop in PPD of ~5%.

Might I be better off by dropping back to 346.96?

Re: P9625-9643 and bad states- some observations

Thanks for that, very interesting. Must admit I was under the impression that the memory clock could be adjusted just like the graphics clock, but closer examination (plus experiment) shows you are perfectly correct :( I'm reluctant to run the cards in a Windows box- apart from any other reason I ha...

P9625-9643 and bad states- some observations

I haven't had enough of these for this to be conclusive, but it has happened several times and I haven't seen it with other projects. I put it forward as perhaps suggesting something that a developer may recognise. Or not, as the case may be. It relates to my GTX 980's, NVidia 355.11 drivers (Linux)...

Re: 9634 (Run 0, Clone 9, Gen 5)

I'll take your word for that, I don't run Windows.

But using the bigbeta flag as outlined earlier could still be a useful stop-gap until the problem is sorted out (or a workaround found).
