Re: FAH on Chakra Linux (arch variant)

Update: I have been using the old version of Chakra that I originally installed as per the OP since I found that when upgrading Chakra with pacman -Syu the Nvidia drivers were being upgraded to 331.20 and I lost up to 50% ppd. However, I recently spotted a thread on the chakra forums that stated tha...

Re: FAH on Chakra Linux (arch variant)

To get FAHClient running as a service I was following Folding@home - ArchWiki But getting stuck at the # systemctl start foldingathome step as it always returned an error regarding locales. so I edited the /etc/locale.gen file and added the following lines to it:- en_GB ISO-8859-1 en_GB.UTF-8 UTF-8 ...

Thanks, any advice appreciated. As I said I will have to figure out how to set it up as a service.

FAH on Chakra Linux (arch variant)

Hi, I just got my new build up and running on my Sapphire PURE Black 990FX (which required BIOS 1APEF036.ROM for this GPU) with a Gigabyte GTX660 GV-N660OC-2GD . I went for Chakra Linux which is an arch variant (just to be different). I used octopi (GUI for Pacman) to install Nvidia 3.19.49-1, nvidi...

Re: Getting small WU's on a Geforce Titan

I'm currently getting "ERROR:WU01:FS01:Exception: Could not get an assignment". Is that because of the shortage of core_17 WUs. I am testing two "low end" Kepler cards at the moment and would like to keep going on linux - core_17 WUs are the only ones I can use for GPU folding.

Re: Just Saiyin Hi

On the subject of testing I know that there is FAHbench for Windows, but what's the best testing tool in linux? is there a good test for GPUs in Phoronix test suite for example?

Re: Just Saiyin Hi

Napoleon, thanks. I did know that and am planning accordingly. I am already testing out some Nvidia cards on my current machines for compatibility.

Just Saiyin Hi

Hi,
I have just started folding. Using linux and folding for the first time. Tried folding on a CPU first but using GPU since core17 went advanced. 8-)

I am building a new rig for folding and will ask advice as the build progresses.
