I was lucky and got one. I haven't read anything about this card. Am I the first who want's to try to fold on it?

If there is no reason why not to fold on it, then I will put it in my Folding Rig for now and will post the Id here afterwards.

If there is a restriction then it goes into my Gaming-PC.

Yep, my lucky acquired 6800XT is running a 17320 with around 3,6 Million PPD.

I guess with enough atoms, this card can be put to good use.

Is your motherboard's BIOS update to date?

That helps sometimes with 2 video cards.

If you happen to have crashes with a new GPU, keep in mind that this old power supply may not be ready for the fast changes of power required by the new GPU. That wattage is enough, but fluctuation may become a problem.

The original 80+ power supplies (without bronze, gold, platinum, etc.) are mostly ATX V2.3 or lower and aren't ready for newer graphics cards. Because of the strong power fluctuations required by the new chips. The continious load wouldn't be a problem, but the short spikes can lead to short voltage...

What power supply are you using?

Not only the wattage, but the brand is also important.

The system itself is about 5-6 years old with the only upgrade being the GPU I would say here we have it. Your PSU is 6 years old and you're using a current gen GPU. The problem is not about the wattage of your PSU, but a 6 years old PSU is not prepared for the fast load changes newer graphics card...

My RX480 also idles for days.

At the moment there seems to be no work-units for this type of cards.

Guess you only can wait until new work-units are available.

Project 14286 => 1,5M PPD Being curious about the 14283 with its even higher Atom-Count. Got one through night, but haven't seen the PPD. Seeing very high PPD for this Project on my Vega 64. On most projects I get around 800k PPD, but with the 14229 it's around 1,4 Million PPD.

So also AMD GPU-Hardware comes into good use for Folding@Home, hopefully the problem with the 5700 Series can be fixed soon.
