Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
It'll be a dual boot system. Windows 10 home 64 bit, is for my own projects and games, And Linux, I'll have to decide which one. I'm currently running xubuntu on one system, but was looking into Intel's Clear Linux. Not sure if it'll run well for FAH, but people that do run it, say for their project...

Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
Food for thought. I still have to read the whole thread, My motherboard has 1x PCIE 16x slot, and 2x PCIE 1x slots. I probably will put a GTX 1050 in the 16x slot (perhaps in the future this will upgrade to a 2000 series card), My interest is in the 1x slot. With risers, I'm interested on what the t...

Re: real world experiences with 16GB DDR2?
If you're running any operating system from Windows Xp to windows 10, FAH requires you to have at least 1GB of RAM, but preferably 2GB of RAM (or more). If you're using it just for FAH, and browsing, more than 4GB of RAM would be overkill, and slow down performance by a few percent. Disable swap fi...

Re: Client stops within 1 or 2 mins after starting
An Atom CPU running at 1,6/2.48 Ghz runs a work unit in 15 hours. There's been debate about whether or not the GPU could do it better. The GPU of the N3060 runs at 320Mhz, but has 12 execution units, vs only 2 CPU cores. I would guess the GPU can process information at about the same speed as the N3...

Re: Please add NVIDIA Quadro P620
Yeah, my mistake;
The GTX970 doesn't cost $80, the GTX960 does.
Probably mistyped in Google, didn't notice, and just copy pasted the results.

Re: Please add NVIDIA Quadro P620
Last results I read were the 1050 got 100k PPD. But if they get more than 300k PPD, I'd be delighted!
Either way, he'll be at 1/3rd of that, closest estimation.

How efficient is Core 21 up 'till now?
Is it more efficient than current desktop software? I was reminded of how back in the day, DirectX improved gaming performance by large margins, on older hardware, through the more efficient software being able to access the hardware better; and MS kept improving DirectX for many years. Fah core, pr...

Re: Please add NVIDIA Quadro P620
P620 is about 3x slower than a GTX970 in benchmarks.
Deducting from those gaming benchmarks, I guess you'd average at around 25k PPD.
A GTX 970 costs $80, and runs close to 75k PPD.

Re: Slow performance Desktop app on Core M processor!
Bruce, the opposite is quite true. The Celeron N3060 has a base speed of 1,6Ghz, but the HP Stream 11 has such good cooling, that the CPU is running nearly constantly at turbo speeds of 2,48Ghz, with the 2 cores. The laptop only gets hand warm. It's built on 14nm design, which is probably the reason...

Re: Clear Linux
From what I read, though made by intel, for intel chips, it works even better on AMD cores. The irony... I'm not sure if the performance spike is only on flatpack applications, or also on the deb and RPM packages. The fact that the OS is only 250MB in size, could also be the reason. It's like runnin...

Try clearing your browser cache, and restart NaCl.

Clear Linux
I've read lots of positive praise on the efficiency of Intel's Clear Linux. In many cases, Clear Linux got a 20% higher performance score than most other distros like Mint or Ubuntu. The ISO is a mere 250MB in size. Anyone got experience with Clear Linux? First I want to see if the live version can ...

Re: Unable to fold via Linux
Gallium OS had too many deb packages, as well as online packages that would error when installing.
Like a good 4 programs out of 20 had errors.
I switched to Xubuntu, and it works like a charm.
