Re: GPU folding
PCIE 1x slot, transfers data at 250 MBps both ways (that is over 25MB/s). This should be plenty for folding apps, albeit at speeds closer to integrated graphics. As far as GPU, I don't know how it'll work on the browser, but it appears the client allows me to assign an x-amount of CPU cores, and I p...

Re: Folding client stops working
I think the PC is an older pc, and goes into sleep mode when not used for a while. This may be the reason.

Re: Intel® HD Graphics
Just read up on this thread. How are things 1,5 years later? If Android phones of old were supported, and a P4 @ 1,4Ghz is supported, current IGPs will be much faster. In light of things, I understand why no research is being done in this area, When a single server gets in the 200 million points per...

Folding on intel IGPs?
I see lots of talk about folding on Nvidia and AMD GPUs.
Is there anything on Integrated graphics for Intel CPUs? (Intel Core i- CPUs)

Folding client stops working
I'm currently running 3 clients, all same user name, team, and pass key. All 3 clients run Windows 7 professional, and Chrome 70.0.3538.110 32 bit. All 3 run from browser only. 2 of the systems are Dell Optiplex 3020M, with Core i5-4590T (2 cores 4 threads at 2Ghz). They run fine, one is running 24/...

Re: Server advise!
I have 1 PCIE 16x and 2 x PCIE1 slots. I bought the server to be small, like a half sized desktop, for the CPU, as I need CPU power for my own projects. Adding a GPU was simply the right thing to do for FAH, but I don't want to raise our electric bill by too much. I'm currently running at ~350Watts,...

Re: A basic nvidia question
Due to the bitcoin crash, now's the time to upgrade graphics cards y'all! Several GTX 1050 cards for under $75 (some as low as $55 on evil bay). I recommend anyone to go online now and buy server hardware! Seems like Qualcomm's Centrix processors are hitting the market, and Facebook and Google are u...

Re: Artificial Intelligence for F@H
Interesting, I don't know how accessible the AI is on Snapdragon chipsets. It's usually a part sealed off within the CPU doing all kinds of low level background activity, like listening to whatever is spoken, convert the words to text, compresses it, and uploads it to ad and govt servers, for you to...

But that doesn't speak of the app?Joe_H wrote:Yes, folding using the NaCl client in Chrome requires a x86-64 CPU.JimboPalmer wrote: F@H runs inside the Chrome Browser, but I think that also requires an x86-64 CPU.
Or is the app using Chrome (because I think it does connect to my browser as soon as I start it up).

Re: FAH for ARM?
I am not sure why you keep posting if you won't read the answers. F@H Runs on x86-64 CPUs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. F@H runs inside the Chrome Browser, but I think that also requires an x86-64 CPU. F@H runs in some Android phones on ARM CPUs, basically if they resemble a Sony. F@H can run on rec...

Re: Server advise!
So I finally did the upgrade! It's a great time to be buying server hardware! $500 bought me a 12 core, 24 thread Intel Xeon processor 75W, 32GB of ECC DDR3 RAM at 1333Mhz, a 500W bronze PSU (80+%), a 256GB SATA6 SSD, MICROATX motherboard and case, windows operating system (still deciding which one,...

Re: GPU folding
I just bought a Xeon system, with 12 cores, 24 threads, and the 1050 graphics card. Will my CPU be nearly idle, feeding graphics card data, or will it aid the graphics card?
I can't imagine a Xeon CPU getting only 1/10th the results?

GPU folding
If I were to install a gaming graphics card like the NVidia GTX 1050,
Does the folding app fold using both CPU and GPU, or only GPU?

Re: passkey
Using the same user name on many computers isn't a problem? (eg: the system won't send the same folding things to all computers?)

passkey
Can I use the same passkey for all my PCs?
I'm currently running 3 pcs,
I distinguish each PC to run under a different name,
Should they use the same passkey, or each a unique passkey?
