Re: What PG respond to that?

5) ATI deprecated their GPU language, Brook, in favor of OpenCL. So, we were forced to completely rewrite our GPU core for ATI in openCL. This takes time, especially to write highly optimized code. We have been internally testing this and expect to start beta testing it shortly (days to weeks). It ...

Re: My comments on the Folding@Home

Give me a break. NV has the better hardware and software for folding right now. Plain and simple. Software, yes. Hardware? Not so much. And clients are not permanent beta. WinSMP has been in beta since its inception. I think the point being made is that we've had clients (or series of clients) that...

Re: 171.64.65.56 ???

You're assuming that all failure to upload problems are server-side issues. I'm not assuming that at all. But I am assuming that, when server issues do arise, that a system could be implemented to address it. This has been done in the past, with mass point credits as users are "caught up"...

Re: 171.64.65.56 ???

...What happens to WUs that fail to upload like this? Do they expire when the deadline passes? Is the bonus frittered away? In this case, you bonus points will reduce according to the delay caused by the Server. If you cross the Preferred Deadline, you will be assigned Base Credits. If you cross th...

Re: FAH GPU Tracker

MtM: It looks like they've been actively developing this application as they have a support thread for it, with several users, over at the EVGA forum. They are now up to a v3.10 release. I guess since they don't want to follow the EULA, they don't hang out here anymore. http://www.evga.com/forums/t...

Re: HFM.NET - Client Monitoring Application for Folding@Home

Figured it out. At some point after I last used HFM.NET, it was migrated to .NET v3.5 - which I hadn't installed on that particular webserver yet. Not surprisingly, HFM.NET ran just fine when it was using .NET v2 but not .NET v3.5. Changelogs FTW! :p

Re: HFM.NET - Client Monitoring Application for Folding@Home

I posted a bug report, but haven't heard back regarding an unhandled exception I get every time I try to run the program on one of my systems (WinServer 2008 R2 SP1). HFM.NET v0.5.1 Windsor Container Failed to Initialize. The HFM.exe.config file is likely corrupt. Exception Thrown: System.IO.FileNot...

Re: Points per day dropping

My PPD has dropped from over 28k ave as at end january to less than 22k at the moment and the trend appears downwards. According to this topic I should switch to using passkeys and get the bonus points eventually. I have a hotch potch of systems so will passkeys work on them all. The systems are:- ...

Re: Project: 6012 (Run 0, Clone 32, Gen 168)

OP, I'm assuming you're using something like hfm.net or a bonus calculator to figure out your A3 PPD? Otherwise you're only looking at base PPD, which is hardly representative of the actual points attained. just to update. I have now clocked up to 3.6 ghz and yes ht is on and now doing 3 minutes 10 ...

Always get permission first, and don't let it interfere w/ your primary role: doing your freaking job. Oh, and work hardware belongs at work, not at home. What a goon ... reminds me of the snake attack that took down How???. :(

Re: FaHWiki forum links still point to expired folding-commuity

So why don't you get an account at the wiki and edit it, since you are so enthusiastic? Because I like to get more information / permission before I go in and start editing stuff? Thanks for the info/clarifications 7im. Losing all that valuable data was a huge loss, and shame to hear that it...

FaHWiki forum links still point to expired folding-commuity

With http://folding.stanford.edu/ currently down, I went to the FaHWiki for some information. After clicking a few links, it became obvious that the majority (all?) of the links pointing to forum discussions are still pointing to the old community Folding@home forum. If those discussions are archive...
