If you are running stock settings, I guess the devs need to figure out a way to blacklist less powerful GPUs to avoid waste. All of my WU's so far today are 7 hour tasks on my 1080TIs. Not blacklisting or making them beta tasks will just cause the WUs to time out on less powerful GPUs.

I like the larger/longer projects. Keeps the GPUs gainfully employed and reduces the number of connection requests to the work and collection servers.

I run Mint on all of my CPU/Nvidia folding rigs. Tried to build an AMD GPU rig and quit after two days of fighting it. I think the key is finding an older version of AMD's official drivers that have OpenCL and that will work. Sadly, I'll just have to install Windows for now.

Do you have your 310 or 660 set to client-type advanced? If so, you might want to remove them. Not sure but looks like 13400 is a beta task. My 1080 TI is 4 min 60 sec per fold, so about 6 or 7 hours.

At work, we have always used TightVNC for Linux remote desktop. It's pretty much the industry default for Linux from what I have seen. They even have a Windows client so you can remote from Windows into your Linux boxes.

You might play around with TightVNC or TigerVNC and see how it goes!

FWIW, I just dropped in a Titan XP alongside my 1080TI, added the slot, and I was good to go (a Linux system). No risk in setting the current tasks to Finish however and just waiting for them to complete before the the upgrade.
