Re: Oh my, that's a big one

I've been consistently getting ones with over 200,000 base credit. Takes 1.3 days to complete with a 5900X.

So... I've been seeing some Core a8 projects hit my client.

Only Project 16810 so far, but it nets about 50% higher PPD than most a7 projects (130k vs ~85k, Ryzen 2700X). Nice.

Is the forum subject going to change now that a8 is apparently on Prime Time?

My client has been trying to return WU results to this server for nearly two days now. 8-)

Re: App/system crashes a lot

Not really an appropriate thread. If it's any help, I was able to play s00p3r 1nt3nz3 g@m3S but ONLY when folding did I have regular crashes. I did have the occasional crash when gaming, but chalked it up to bad drivers. Long story short, I replaced my video card about a week ago. http://www.crawspa...

Re: faulty WU - Project 13421

was there an entry in the Windows even log corresponding to the time of the crash? Nothing stands out, TBH. Last log entries on all sections was 10:46:00 AM, a full minute+ before the crash. Is there something specific I can look for? I have learned that Skype is apparently is causing a jackload of...

Re: faulty WU - Project 13421

Lots of threads about 13421, but thought I'd post here. Got my first dumped WU today (without me switching video cards mid-fold). Draw on the GPU for this one was around 55W, and these usually run around 110W (other WUs pull over 200W typically). Black screen, power cycled, loaded F@H and it didn't ...

Re: Going to swap GPU - how does this affect my folding conf

It did, almost immediately. Everything works. Client detected and displayed Vega. The only abnormality is the WU dump. I looked up that particular one and sadly it looked like mine would have been a good return after four faulty ones. :(

Re: Going to swap GPU - how does this affect my folding conf

This may be helpful to someone out there. Got the Vega 64 back. The HD 7970 was at a 9 hour ETA for its current work unit, and I didn't wait for it to finish. Paused both CPU/GPU slot. Uninstalled Drivers. Rebooted. Shut down. Swapped video card. Powered on PC. Factory Reset option checked, installe...

Re: Trying to understand Ranking

Well your stats are showing up at ExtremeOverclocking: https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com ... =&u=727590

According to it, you're ranked 600k, and that you have about 50k total points.

After many days of 13415, got my first failure today. https://apps.foldingathome.org/wu?p=134 ... ne=1&gen=0 Also will edit my above post because I misread the statement that I quoted. Log (Summary - particle coordinate is nan) 07:35:21:WU02:FS01:FahCore 0x22 started 07:35:22:WU02:FS01:0x22:****...

Re: Project 13415 problematic or WU dumping a new hobby?

I have not had a P13415 error (of any kind) in almost two days on my two RX 570s, one on Win7 and the other on Ubuntu 18.04 (running 24/7). It looks like they have found the major problems. EDIT: Misread your post initially - my brain excluded the word "error". That one word makes my init...

Re: Some WUs being assigned after OK return?

I don't think so. It's a matter of (A) knowing how to fix the FAHCore bugs associated with ATI or (B) excluding assignments to those GPUs. I think you read me wrong. My cards have a 100% success rate with 13415. Or maybe I'm reading you wrong. I don't know anymore. It's been a long day in front of ...

Re: Some WUs being assigned after OK return?

Well, that explains it...

Any idea why neither my Vega 64/HD 7970 have failed a single one of these, then? Can I call AMD and tell them their drivers are superior?

Should I do something on my end to force them to crash so I can get a 'real' WU more quickly?

Some WUs being assigned after OK return?

This is the first time I've seen this happen, but maybe it's more common than I think.

https://apps.foldingathome.org/wu#proje ... e=12&gen=0

Summary: I got assigned a WU that was returned OK over three days ago.

Re: Going to swap GPU - how does this affect my folding conf

Thanks Mr. BobWilliams for the encouragement. :) Unfortunately, after letting it run all night, one of the three fan bearings is very angry with me. I did look at my history and saw that I got 10k points for a 13415 WU, which was only 5k less than the Vega. I even saved it from being faulty (four ot...
