Re: Tips & tricks for saving power & keeping hardware health
Thanks for the advice jrweiss. The idea of the circle was to make the most gradual line between two points. It actually works pretty well, but I like your idea better. I found that on average my fan ran at 44% or 1637 rpm and kept the GPU operating at an average of 55°C. I want to keep the temperatu...

Re: How does FAH protect against memory errors?
Thanks Joe_H! That is super cool. I wish I could see how this is implemented in detail. While I'm a complete novice, probability theory is a big area of interest for me; particularly when applied to computers.

How does FAH protect against memory errors?
Most servers & supercomputers use ECC to prevent memory errors, but FAH relies on mostly consumer grade hardware that generally does not use ECC. Is anything done to detect and protect against memory errors? Are memory errors not a big deal for this kind of system?

Tips & tricks for saving power & keeping hardware healthy
Power costs money and running hardware continuously at high temperatures and high fan speed will wear a system down. What options exist for an average folder to keep their hardware healthy and control their power bill? What tips & tricks do you use / know? Mine: Underclocking is the most obvious...

Re: PPD Database - HFM exports needed
Actually that's a good question. There are in fact four ways HFM can report the PPD on the display - All Frames, Last Frame, Effective Rate and last Three Frames. It can also calculate the bonus based on download time or frame time. Which one of all of these is used in the database or does it read ...

Re: Explore & compare PPD performance by processor
FACT: The Radeon's performance is known to degrade when the atom-count goes down. This graph shows that to be true. I'm surprised that it's not also true for nVidia but to a lesser degree. All of the the Turing GPUs I looked at do increase performance with atom count, but with a much flatter curve....

Re: PPD Database - HFM exports needed
It could just be outlier data points. You guys are all pretty closely clustered together. I wouldn't worry about it.
Also, I suspect my graph looking so nice is more luck than anything else.

Re: PPD Database - HFM exports needed
Question to the other R9 3900X owners: trying to figure out where the difference in ppd is coming from; do you have an amd or Nvidia gpu running along? Thanks! It looks alright to me. They're all trending in the same direction plus or minus a bit. This could be explained by the average clock rate a...
