Re: Returning Folder Needs GPU Assistance

An Update: The GPU arrived and I installed with no problem. Installed the latest driver and found that FAH was not at all impressed. It sat there for days while I read the forum and tried to find a solution by myself. Finally I tried an older (earlier) driver and it started folding. No doubt could h...

Re: Returning Folder Needs GPU Assistance

Foldy, I appreciate your prompt reply. A little reassurance was all I needed, so I ordered a GTX 1050 which is to arrive next week. Don't be surprised if I come up with more questions.

Thanks again.

Re: Returning Folder Needs GPU Assistance

With hopes of making more of a contribution to FAH I have been looking at compatible GPU's. In my price range I am considering a GTX 1050. There are concerns about whether this will work with my MB which is a Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3. The gpu calls for UEFI while the MB is BIOS. (Please understand that ...

Returning Folder Needs GPU Assistance

I've been away a few years and have started to fold again. The processor is doing fine, however I have not been able to get my video card to work. Biggest problem is trying to explain my problem. The card is Geforce 8800 Gts 512 which has worked years previously when folding. I was expecting the cli...

Re: 130.237.232.141 Server Reports Problem With Unit

You really should go one step further and run OCCT or Intel Burn test as 7im sugested. Prime really does not come close to stressing your CPU as much as folding does. OCCT and or Intel Burn test come allot closer. Done! I ran Intel Burn Test last evening at the max setting and it passed. Temps went...

Re: 130.237.232.141 Server Reports Problem With Unit

7im, Took your advice and ran Prime 95 which failed after a few hours. So I reduced the O/C one notch and Prime 95 ran without further issues. Thanks for the tip. I erroneously assumed that nothing was wrong with my setup because of its previous successes. Another lesson to keep in mind.

Re: 130.237.232.141 Server Reports Problem With Unit

Thanks guys, I thought it would be a loss based on what I was able to research. I don't think it's the overclock as it has successfully finished many of these units previously. Yesterday I had been messing with the computer, adding programs and deleting programs, so I suspect it was my fault. This A...

Re: Continue Folding While on Vacation??

I appreciate your suggestions. I ALWAYS turn off the water heater when leaving for a few days even though Duke Energy charges only .075 KWH. I had opened the case (Antec Solo) just before my post and cleaned the dust screens in the front. They do a pretty good job, as there was merely a trace of dus...

Continue Folding While on Vacation??

I have been folding on my 9600GSO and 2 clients on the dual processor for several months without problems. Since it runs 24/7, I wonder if it's considered safe to let it run for 5 days with nobody in attendance? (Not even the cat will be here.) We have a whole house surge protector and there's a sep...
