Re: 4090 Power Plug and F@H
I would continue to monitor the JayzTwoCents, and GamersNexus YouTube channels for more information that is related to the RTX 40xx series cards (and the 12VHPWR connector/adapter cable issue). While they will not address distributive computing project related use of gaming hardware on their channel...

Re: Can't get a new work unit
I have also been having trouble getting WU's for my Ryzen 3's (3200G/Picasso Core) iGPU for the past week or so. Is there going to be a classification downgrade for this iGPU?

Re: RTX 4090 is getting 26M PPD
I would be curious to see results from a system using AMD's upcoming RX 7xxx series RDNA3 cards (using OpenCL & no overclocking).

Re: Dell Dimension E521 Information
It's just the AM2 (no "+") socket. I'll move the Noctua NH-D9L cooler from my Ryzen 9 3950x system, when I upgrade to the larger NH-D15S. I'll get in touch w/you via PM on that memory, as I may try to find a couple of used/reconditioned Socket LGA 775 MB's for CPU's that are sitting on my...

Re: Dell Dimension E521 Information
Well, I did some initial tear-down and cleaning (what a mess w/the dust). I can only use a single-slot x16 length graphics card, because it is a BTX-like form factor MB (curse you Dell). So my EVGA GT 1030 that I bought for the now retired/recycled PowerEdge T105 is going into it. In regards to the ...

Re: Dell Dimension E521 Information
It might have potential. They made those with a wide variety of hardware, and though the cases are often strange to say the least, many had decent components. I purchased a pre-built system for my daughter at one point, and while doing some research on memory upgrades found the board was one common...

Re: AMD RX6000+ family GPU owners, please update to 22.7.1 drivers for optimal F@H performance
If you are having slow performance on an AMD iGPU while you are using a dGPU card, let the CPU task that you are running finish and then remove the CPU slot. Resources from the vacated CPU folding slot may be able to help on more complex WU's that are given to an iGPU (just a hypothesis--I need to m...

Re: Dell Dimension E521 Information
The owner's manual The AMD Athlon X2 was AMD's first dual core processor. On the positive side, it is a 64bit processor. You will need much more RAM to run Windows 10 or recent versions of Linux distos. Frankly, I've tossed better computers into dumpsters. It isn't worth your time or money. This on...

Dell Dimension E521 Information
Well, I have procured a second hand desktop to refurbish for F@H use.... (it was free). So, I need a little bit of information to help me plan on CPU & memory upgrades. As I have not dusted it out enough to power it up. This is what I know so far: Current RAM: 2x512MB of DDR2 533 CPU: Athlon X2 ...

Re: AMD RX6000+ family GPU owners, please update to 22.7.1 drivers for optimal F@H performance
The older Vega based iGPU cores that are in the 2000/3000 series Ryzen's may not see that much of a boost. But the RX 6000 series dGPU's will fare better with the right WU's. Though, we will see what enhancements are in store from the F@H software/OpenMM development team(s), to optimize the AMD card...

I saw the performance boost on my RX 6500 XT right away. Though things also may have stabilized as well on that Ryzen 3 3200G's iGPU as well.

Re: New Radeon drivers - 21.10.1 - performance still seems bad
Just an update, if you haven't seen it on Discord, AMD have now noticed the issues put forward regarding the poor performance in F@H, and are working on it. So couple more driver versions and we should have our performance back :) Hopefully so... Though at the moment, I have not noticed any signifi...
