Slow SMP folding - Asus G45 - Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha
Due to my MB (GIGABYTE GA-G33M-DS2R) taking a dump, I bought a new MB (Asus P5Q-EM). Unfortunately, due to the G45 chipset being so new, I had to install the Alpha release of Ubuntu 8.10, as 8.04 could not work with the SATA controller on the MB. Anyway, I finally got everything set up, and my Q6600...

Re: Performance graph?
That jump is actually when the Nvidia client was released. The GPU2 client was already out.

Re: 5102 runing very slow
Even a quad would still be getting less points on 5102 than even it would on the evil 2665. If it is their wish that SMP points are cut by a third, that is fine, but I wish they would say so, instead of just having some evil work units that don't seem to jive (not even close) with the previous proje...

Re: 5102 runing very slow
Well, I'm still only getting 2/3 of what I got with 2605, but at least it isn't totally absurd anymore. Thanks.

Re: Performance graph?
I started taking a screenshot a day of the Client Statistics by OS, and put them in a photobucket folder...

I then enter them into Excel when I am at work.

Re: Highwater Mark
I just bought myself a PS3 for my birthday (even if it isn't for a few days still =), and it is folding about 20 hours a day. I think the drop in numbers is just a dip from the high that occurred when GTA IV was released. Hopefully people will turn their systems back on soon. If not, perhaps when th...

Re: 5102 runing very slow
My laptop's ppd dropped from about 1280 to 550 (frame times now at 56 minutes on a T7100) since I just got this WU. My laptop was getting project 2605, but this 5102 is a nightmare. I don't really care about maxing out points, but this is a little absurd.

Re: Project: 3062 (Run 0, Clone 83, Gen 49) [ERROR 0x1]
Unfortunately, I would have been at work when that happened. I don't monitor the system that closely. I just check it from over the network when I wake up, and before I go to bed. Since I knew it would happen again at the same point, I just posted here, and grabbed another WU.

Re: Project: 3064 (Run 2, Clone 145, Gen 17) [ERROR 0x1]
I already gave up that unit. I am not monitoring the machine enough to stop it at a certain %. This was on my dedicated Q6600, which so far has been fairly "fire and forget".

Re: Highwater Mark
I seem to remember the time listed for active PS3 being shorter before. The PS3 FAQ lists active PS3s as being 2 days, but I though it had been around a week for a while. Active CPUS are defined as those which have returned WUs within 50 days. Active GPUs are defined as those which have returned WU...

Re: 2605 (multiple)
Well, I deleted Ubuntu 7.10, and installed Ubuntu 8.04. I can start SMP WUs again, so that is good. Although, now I have a new problem, in that I can't fold very fast. Speedsteep is throttling down my processor, even though it should be full blast right now. Project 2605 is taking over 40 minutes/fr...
