Thank you for such a quick reply.
Very good information. You saved me from a lot of hair pulling!
Yes, old but still going, like me!
Cheers,
Robert

Issues folding with nVidia gpu
I have installed FAHClient (version 7.6.21) on a headless laptop running Ubuntu Server. I access the client from my Windows PC via FAHContol (version 7.6.21). The Intel Duo Core CPUs are folding just fine. xxxxxx@folding-laptop:~$ top %Cpu(s): 0.0 us, 0.7 sy, 45.9 ni, 53.2 id, 0.1 wa, 0.0 hi, 0.0 si...

Re: Headless Linux Box
2022/08/05 Note: FAHclient version 7.6.21 has cpu limiting ability and is much easier to implement then configuring CGroups. FAHControl --> Configure --> Slots --> Folding Slots --> select cpu --> select Edit --> select Add Name: cpu-usage Value: 45 (or whatever percentage you perfer) Select OK -->...

Re: Headless Linux Box
Thank you everyone for all the great input. Yes, cpulimit did the trick. Plus this bash script from the Ubuntu form: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=992706 I changed CPU_LIMIT=20 to CPU_LIMIT=50 Created a basic service file: /etc/systemd/system/cpulimit_daemon.service The script limits all...

Re: Headless Linux Box

Re: Headless Linux Box
Okay, I was not too successful finding information regarding CPU control. Here is my question from the previous post: BTW, is it possible to get more control over the CPUs? Medium and Full settings really drives the laptop into thermal meltdown. I am currently running the client set to CPU light. Th...

Re: Headless Linux Box
Brilliant! Thank you, aetch.
Yes, much better then the web based interface and I can access it from my main PC or any other PC on my network.
I should now be able to sort out the rest of my questions I asked earlier.
Cheers,
DoctorBob

Thank you, aetch, Yes, my LAN range is 192.168.0.0/24 I added your code to my /etc/fahclient/config.xml file and rebooted the laptop. I am running Mint Linux 20.2 on an old laptop. Running the OS headless. I access it via ssh (putty). I can not see what is going on in the FAH client. Is there a way to access FAH Client that is text based? Is there a txt based non-javascript client page that will work with elinks or lynx web browse...
