Let's assume that latest fahcore requires latest stable fahclient

Is there a reason you are splitting into two slots? Just run 1 slot with CPU:16 setting, and you will be ok.

Regarding why your Slot 0 is misbehaving, it is possible it is running on the same cores as the other slot.
Otherwise I am out of solutions.

Your OS is killing fahcore process for some reason. Unstable hardware would be one of the reasons.
