Yha, it should be fast enough, I be;ieve 2.3ghz is the 8101 cut off for that generation of xeon. (this is a native linux speed btw)

Running windows hurts you as I don't believe bigadv is avaliable.

You can run a virtualbox ubuntu setup and do bigadv that way, should be around 130k ppd or so. Native linux would be buttloads more.

My other 7611 according to hfm take 7 1/2 mins tpf.

I rebooted and its still 58mins+ tpf.

Is this a dump and go, or am I needing to wait it out. though 4 days is extremely long time.

do you run 24/7? or even for 12-15hrs a day?

^But thats a cpu/gpu mix. 1 Tesla running with a amd 16 core 6272 cpu.

You can't use the active clients for cpu count as i'm betting alot of them are unicore setups.

Should I even inquire about the status of bigadv units in relations to this new gromacs that came seemingly out preform multi-socket systems?
