There is no preferred client. Even if you think the uniprocessor client has limited value, it's still very valuable to PG. It might also help to see your log file. Copy and paste your log file between the tags. You can access the log by right-clicking the FAH tray icon, hovering over Status, and clicking Log file. (If you were using the console client, you'd find it in FAHlog.txt in the location of the executable)

With only one actual physical core, we prefer you choose one or the other, but not both.

FAH is not part of the BOINC platform, so you won't have any luck getting it to work on BOINC. As tear says, you will have to download the FAH client itself.
