Re: F@H 100x faster!?
100x seems like a bit of an over-exaggeration. It just seems a little too large of an increase (and by such a generic number) to be completely true. I may be wrong though, but this is just my speculation. I suggest you read this: http://folding.typepad.com/news/2012/06 ... -come.html 100x actually ...

Re: Blog post: "Unified GPU/SMP benchmarking scheme ..."
If you read the threads, you will find the pro-ATI camp has already decided that Nvidia will get first shot and that this is just another example of AMD discrimination by Stanford. But really no one knows even who gets first shot at these WU's. I take it that you are commenting on the AMD/ATI camp ...

Re: Why are you folding?
Hopefully, any small contribution made by my machine(s) may someday help uplift all of mankind. Started fairly early in the project, but knew then that anything discovered will likely bear fruit long after I'm gone... maybe next lifetime. My machines aren't crunching away to: 1) prove/justify a &quo...

Re: Print Checkpoint Write to Log
Fahcore issue- right! Should have realized that, since the issue isn't client specific.
Thanks for clarification.

Print Checkpoint Write to Log
Noting checkpoint writes in the log (after delay for write to disk) would assist many donors who try to minimize lost work from client shutdowns and would help minimize checkpoint corruption. Adding the text at -verb 3 might yield an increase of processing power to the project and negates the need t...

Re: 128.143.199.97:8080/ Reject Status [Some WUs MIA]
This is one of Professor Kasson's servers, so it is probably located cross country at UVa and isn't being affected by reported problems with Stanford Med School network..

Re: Can't get classic WUs: 171.64.65.62, 171.67.108.33
All of my CPU clients get assigned to 171.64.65.62, even SMP client.
Problem might have something to do with the assignment server...

Signal problems can result in packet loss and greatly reduced speeds.

Re: random question
No, the answer is 42, but I digress. Anyone that doesn't get it (Bruce's joke), catch up! (Oh the joys of preparing for a military related technical presentation.) What are you saying? So...they run the development WUs all the way to the end as well? And that's for benchmarking purposes? So...the b...
