Re: How much time would it take a human to calculate a WU?

...But the brain isn't running software with optimized Assembly loops using SSE SSE2 and 3DNow! with separate versions for x86-64 registers. ....so "our" hardware is leaving a lot on the table. LOL ...I think I'm still running DOS....and my memory is definitely shot.... Answer #2...

Re: project 2665, project 2662, and improvements to come

Thanks 7im, I took a look at the memory usage... Mine was using 400MB for the 2665 WU, and 1.8 GB for Vista. Good to know anyway, now we have to look elsewhere. Any ideas? 7im, are you saying just Vista is using 1.8GB? That seems extremely high. The laptop I'm typing this on is running Vista with a...

Re: How do I get the most out of my rig?

If this is a dedicated folding box you can try running notfred's CD http://reilly.homeip.net/folding/cd.html It automatically (without permanently) installs/runs about the most efficient OS and client for whatever hardware it detects.

What I'd love to get is more for DOUBLE GROMACS B. My T7800 gets HOT but I'm getting about 780 PPD per core!
I think you'd be better off running SMP. My T9300 (2.5 GHz) does 880-925 PPD/Core. Vista 32-bit with VMware Server running the Linux client

Re: The best low-cost computer to use with folding@home

Yes, as long as the mother support booting from a USB Drive. I don't know if it always work for Windows, but it works on linux. That's pretty neat. How's the transfer rate compared to a HD? Since most people don't put much on Linux anyway, can you get a large USB drive and use it as a computer? i.e...

Re: Extra points on p2605?

I have two computer running folding. One completed a p2620 WU for 292 points (no problem there). A few hours later, the other system completed a p2605 WU (Run 4, Clone 51, Gen 46), but when the stats updated, I see 5 new WUs completed for a total of 4080 points. Where are the extra WUs and points c...

Re: How to view NotFred (running VM) status over network?

Yes, I'm already aware of this. On the HTPC the two notfred instances DO show up under diskless. They do not show up from my office though. I've read that this is most likely because I'm using NAT instead of bridged mode in VMware. When I select bridged mode my VMs do not get internet access. Like ...

Also, here are the ones that have more contrast in the DNA strand... http://docs.google.com/File?id=d2wk3qs_5cw8s3vc8_b Nice improvement. Helix is now identifiable. The banner in my opinion is way too busy and still doesn't define F@H clearly. ...Ferrari's logo was adopted when the company only bui...

Re: How to view NotFred (running VM) status over network?

If you left the default option Windows Networking enabled... There will be a Workgroup named Diskless that is visible if you browse your network that lists each instance of notfred setup clients by their Hostname. You can find the Hostname on the web interface that you access via IP address. The pat...

Most of my clients are Linux and several are running under VMWare Server and it works great. What flavor of Linux are you running?
