Same here on my 980's... as do the other Core_21's except the 96xx series, but I suppose PG have a lot more Bad State stats to look at than we have!

Re: Failing units, low ppd, and returned units.

Ah, right, seems I misunderstood... I'll keep an eye on my rigs. When I removed the flag from the GPU slots I forgot I'd earlier set advanced under Expert settings for the client so my observations are worth zilch. I didn't really notice as I didn't get any P96xx WUs, but that must have been just a ...

I don't think all Core_21s have been blocked from Maxwell-2 cards without a client-type defined, only the newer ones that have been causing trouble.

Maybe a mod could clarify?

Core_21 traffic query

Absolutely nothing to do with the current instability problems  It occurred to me that some of these WUs (eg P9625-43) are pretty big, up around 50MB, and it wouldn't surprise me if bigger ones are on the way. A reasonably quick GPU can process one of these in around 3 hours or less, in the wo...

Re: Failing units, low ppd, and returned units.

Ok. So, why is the advanced flag even available if you are going to get the same work units either way? Advanced flags used to deliver post beta work units, before they are released as regular units. So, if they are just regular units, what is the purpose of the advanced flag? You'll only get advan...

Re: Suffering from constant crashes on core 21 WUs!

Do you consider a "bad-state" severe if it's recoverable from the last checkpoint? If it then runs to the end, no. If there are routinely so many bad states (possibly only on certain cards) that the WUs abort after an arbitrary three then yes. If the parenthesised comment is true then tho...

Yes, and if the bugs are severe then the manufacture will perform a recall.

Re: Suffering from constant crashes on core 21 WUs!

I purchase a generic econo-box car of Japanese or Korean origin. Turn the key and just drive it, right. The car will do 135 miles per hour. The tires are only rated at 110 miles per hour. I have a blow out while road racing on the 405 in OKC and wreck the car. Should Toyota or Hyundai limit the car...

Re: Suffering from constant crashes on core 21 WUs!

an overclock is an overclock, whether by the factory or by the user is irrelevant. remove the overclocks to fold core_21. That sounds like a good scheme to encourage donors to use their GPU idle time for folding when they're not gaming. I think you (and PG) are forgetting the reason most people buy...

Re: Suffering from constant crashes on core 21 WUs!

The problem is, most 780s and 780tis have an officially overclocked vbios! FAH surely does need to consider these donors! I've already had this argument- I think they should too, but they don't. Anything above NVidia base clock is unsupported. THBS, my 780 Ti (running under Linux) is underclocked f...
