Re: Loss of GPU config of GTX750 Ti

I happened to catch a post that could have helped here, explaining how the GPU isn't recognised on reboot and inserting it manually as an extra client forces the issue. FROM:Joe_H Site Admin There is a known problem where the client gets started and configured before detecting the GPU and its driver...

Re: Loss of GPU config of GTX750 Ti

That looks normal -apart from an additional new Extra Client option open-web-control =true.
This is now the ok install, though.

Re: Loss of GPU config of GTX750 Ti

I resolved the problem by clean uninstalling the 7.5.1 Client using IO Bit utility and reinstalled/configured ok and back in business. I doubt there is much in the log to pinpoint the cause of the slot configure glitch. The config file isn't viewable in text now, so no help there & it will have ...

Re: Loss of GPU config of GTX750 Ti

The only bit about GPU is above- but I will get back with the CPU output.
Have recall how to curtail the text..

Re: Loss of GPU config of GTX750 Ti

Win10 Seems to be stable and is up to date. I'm thinking of just removing both CPU cores from client when current work is done- and seeing if that does the trick on re-instating along with the GPU, whicxh is otherwise fine. Client for CPU seems to be stuck on 'Core 2' only, one running 2- and the ot...

Re: Loss of GPU config of GTX750 Ti

I tried that but still the same. The setup log showed GPU present. Maybe I need to completely remove FAH Client & then reinstall? This would probably lose current work. I ran GPU Shark shader utility and it showed 200fps & the GPU temp rose to normal working too. 10:14:16: GPUs: 1 10:14:16: ...

Loss of GPU config of GTX750 Ti

I've been folding ok on this card for a few weeks running at around 100k ppd. I took the Slot out whilst updating driver/reboot but on return I can't reinsert the GPU for work. This worked ok a few times before, when testing earlier, but now stalls- putting another CPU slot in instead, which is anno...

Re: GeForce GTX 1050

I agree that in this case I'll be happy to run at stock speeds on both PC and graphics.
There's so much improvement on the efficiencies now, that it hardly seems worth the hassle - unless there's a bet involved :)

Re: GeForce GTX 1050

I've used them before ok and will try on the new card later. They are handy utils.

Re: GeForce GTX 1050

Thanks for tips on power lead. Worth checking out- I have some spare SATA lead outs, so hopefully will match up. At least I know adapters are available for the job & should cope. Not too bothered about o/c, till 1050 is installed. I used those utils on EVGA cards before -but they don't seem to w...

Re: GeForce GTX 1050

I settled on the 1050ti as it was cheap new and matched the power supply of the HP Elite. I just wanted to prove concept at the cheapest price. There is a power lead option with the 1050 but I don't think it has to be used for stock speeds. I worked out the cost of folding on the beefier cards over ...

Re: GeForce GTX 1050

Win 10 64 bit. Yes, good flag there- I looked on nVidia site and the latest is 417.58 so I use that later on the new card. It's right for the 1050ti - from the list & now downloaded from nVidia. I have to admit to getting a bit cross threaded on drivers, cards and Windows machines all changing t...

Re: GeForce GTX 1050

Thanks for reminder on past work options. 10 years folding has covered quite a few changes! I had folded GPU work on a GTX560 but that is too heavy power for new rig P/S, likewise a previous well used GTX460. The GPU work now needs Win 7,8 or 10 -which is why I finally upgraded to 10, amongst other ...

Re: GeForce GTX 1050

I will update on receipt of card, maybe a week or two. Meanwhile I'm testing an old GT240 in the slot but failing to get it working as mentioned earlier- config problems. It used to fold ok and still on the list. It is within the power rating of the PS, at least. The 1050 ti is suitably low powered ...
