Re: Help with scripting a pause/resume toggle in Ubuntu
Just depends on what you are looking for. The example I gave you is pretty reliable. Dealing with finishing slots, not so much. If you ever have problems with slots that quit folding you ought to have a look at my script. It executes reboots and client restarts as necessary when a folding slot gets ...

Re: Help with scripting a pause/resume toggle in Ubuntu
I've been writing scripts for folding for a year and I've never found anything to indicate status. You can grep in the log.txt file but that can be tricky. I do that some in my reboot.sh script that I link to in my signature. if [[ $(grep $FS $logFileToRead|tail -1 |grep -c "Paused") == 1 ]]

Re: Help with scripting a pause/resume toggle in Ubuntu
Personally I'd set it to run on idle instead of pause since I am confident that at some point I'd forget to set it back to fold and not notice till the next day. On Linux I'd use this, setting a flag in my home directory to indicate the status: if [ -e $HOME/idleflag ] ; then FAHClient --send-comman...

Re: Folding on Threadripper
bruce, There is a utility that sort of runs HFM on linux: mono. I was able to get it to run for a while but certain results were wildly inaccurate and then eventually something changed and it wouldn't run at all. It had something to do with date formatting but I didn't make a note of the exact error...

Re: Folding on Threadripper
If you want to direct message me your specific problem(s) I'll take a stab. I've been folding on Linux Mint for a couple of years now and for the most part kept notes on the issues I had to work through. (DarthMouse on Discord) Personally I'd advise against NACL as I see a lot of problems with it di...

Re: nothing works
Have you reinstalled the nvidia driver since the last windows update? Windows updates are known for breaking folding. That's one thing I don't have to deal with on Linux.

I occasionally get those but much more when I overclock. I no longer overclock due to various reliability issues.

Re: Twin GPU's
Seems like a lot of extra work. I never reinstall to change my GPU lineup. I just change/add slots in configure/slots. I do have to manually set gpu indexes and opencl indexes. Starting with 0 for the first gpu ind incrementing 1 for each additional gpu. Leaving it as the default -1 never works for ...

Re: GPU stats not showing up but CPU are???
On Linux fah saves old logs in the sub folder "logs" of the folder holding logs.txt /var/lib/fahclient/logs. I can't comment on windows.

personally I never look at the stanford stats pages. I see everything I need at extremeoverclocking.com just go there and search on your folding name.

(Personal note: The annual CO2 production associated with my participation in FAH is essentially zero. Solar panels on my home produce enough power that my annual electric bill is zero, give or take some small amount.) Off topic: We don't have solar panels but we do contribute to a TVA program that...

Re: RTX cores for folding@home
Currently the exchange rates are so bad that the coin payout doesn't even pay for the electricity used in folding, or maybe just barely and it's just getting worse.
