Re: 18113 extremely low PPD (25% usual) and low GPU utilizat

Especially since the latest versions of the integrated GPUs from Intel have dropped double precision support in the hardware. I am waiting to see what the discrete cards are like, they may be more suitable. The FAHCore (actually OpenMM) is written to REQUIRE hardware DP. Running emulated DP cuts Ev...

Re: Newbie as well

No, if you install it in standard mode, a user needs to be logged in, but the session can be locked. If you install it as a service, it can CPU fold while logged off, but it can never use the graphics card due to how Windows handles permissions to the GPU. Exactly. The Graphic card must be "ow...

Re: Who has a no-gpu system?

[HD Graphics 630] should be supportable, but I have to have the latest Intel driver on my Windows system. I don't know how (or if) you can do that on Linux.

Re: Fah Commands

Warning: Do not try to "improve" the efficiency of your substitute client. FAH's server's logic will not work properly if you (for example) decide you want to queue up multiple WUs and redistribute them "more efficiently" (locally) and you'll end up with lost WUs.

Re: 128.252.203.13 collection server but uploads to work ser

The WU will only go to the CS after the local client detects an error from the server that was just tried. Inasmuch as the WS indicates that the upload was successful ("Please Wait" isn't recognized as an error so the client doesn't retry the upload). Somebody at Joseph's level needed to r...

Re: Windows Fahcore_22 v0.0.16 updated driver requirements

Since core 22 v0.0.16 has been compiled with a newer version of CUDA (11.x), make sure that you have the latest nVidia Game Ready drivers for your GPU installed on your system. The latest studio drivers work, too and you don't need every update that fixes problems that only are seen in specific gam...

Re: papers?

Scientists are human. Should they spend their waking hours trying to keep enough useful projects distributed to FAH clients or should they allow the servers to run out of WUs while they create new papers?

Re: Project: 18202 (Run 1345, Clone 3, Gen 9) dumped

Work Quit generally means that you've already uploaded that WU and the server is refusing to give you credit for it again.
NOTE: This server is apparently accepting WUs (once) but the credit reports are not reaching the stats server so you can't tell what's actually happening.

Re: IDLE + FAH SCREENSAVER

Another way to detect folding is to note the progress of the active WU and wait a few hours. when you wake up the screen, it will have advanced.

This is usually due to a limitation on virtual memory. Try enabling windows to use whatever it needs.

Re: probability of GPU being phased out

Within each generation (first digits) the speed of the nV GPUs is identified by the "tens" digit and modified by a suffix such as Ti.

2080 ia faster than a 2060.

Re: New WU behaving strangely after GPU swap

FAH is not designed to recognize a GPU swap.

save your name/team/passkey and do a clean install.
