Re: Missing Preferred bigadv target?

Darn. I wish I had known that before I had put EXT4 on 4 folding machines. :D

Re: Missing Preferred bigadv target?

Thanks! There must be something else going on, but if altering the filehandling will improve the situation, I'll play with that. That segment of the code needs to be profiled. No way you spend over 4,000 seconds doing 96mb of file moving. I don't care if you verify every byte and triple encode it. M...

Re: Missing Preferred bigadv target?

Wow. Is there a way to RAMDISK a Linux system? There is plenty unused RAM to fix this, since the disk write is pointless anyhow. It's using the disk as RAM. DOH!! That took 5 seconds to find. http://www.linuxscrew.com/2010/03/24/fa ... untulinux/ How do I configure FAH to use the RAMDISK instead of ...

Re: Missing Preferred bigadv target?

Semi-related. Is this 1 hour delay normal? Look where it says "done". When do they "stop the clock" for the deadline? 11:27:11:WU01:FS00:0xa5:logfile size: 190652 11:27:11:WU01:FS00:0xa5:Leaving Run 11:27:12:WU01:FS00:0xa5:- Writing 96308712 bytes of core data to disk... 11:27:35...

Keycode for SMP is qualifier?

Greetings, I'm using the same keycode for all machines. When I start a new username for a new machine (I segregate machines that I'm concerned about) and use the same keycode, it is automatically "qualified", or must it fold 10 WU's before getting bonus? Need to know so I can monitor initi...

Missing Preferred bigadv target?

I'm probably going to miss the Preferred Deadline by 1-4 hours.

A) Does that count as failed unit?

B) Does it get normal SMP points?

Thanks, won't do that again. Needed a line in the sand.

Re: New poll/discussion: improving technical descriptions

How can I make sure I can adjust FAH client to only fold 8028 24/7?? I'm getting them with just SMP. No advanced or other settings. If it's any condolence, I'm folding them on pretty fast hardware for SMP, between 0:35 and 0:50 TPF. Return speed is what it's all about. It is better for P8028's to b...

You can delete this thread. It was the machine. It's folding 8028's fine under Linux, but not Win8. Don't know why. The Engineering Sample CPU's are probably to blame.

DOH! Bold doesn't mark inside code tags. Several core crashes in the WU. Win8-64 2x Opteron 62xx 12-core engineering samples. No overclock, machine is stable as far as Windows knows. It's probably this machine. *********************** Log Started 2013-02-14T20:40:30Z *********************** 20:40:30...

BigAdv Problem.

I have no idea how you get bigadv to run on 7.2.9 under Linux. I hit the FINISH button and let it complete the SMP job. When it sent the job back then I went to switch over. I went into the Expert>Clientside>Add>client-type>bigadv>save It pretty much just put the computer on hold. No more log entrie...

Re: Is there an iPhone and iPod Touch Client? [No]

The killer app for iPhones won't be computing power, but sensor nodes. Can you imagine a computer with 100,000,000 sensors? Like the LASER in 1960's, it's simply a technology waiting for an application. Topography? Weather? Energy Management? Epidemic Control? EDIT!!! OH! OH! To help SETI, all the i...

Yup. My kids will drain an iPhone in 2 hours gaming. This exceeds the charging rate.
