Pi are mainly mains powered -- 95% or more. ARM chips don't get nearly as hot as AMD/Intel -- partly because they are not so powerful! Pi4B (newest, quickest) uses under 15W including peripherals!

You may be right. I don't know exactly how WORK_QUIT is handled by the server. Dumping by any means is discouraged, but sometimes it is necessary.

PPD varies a bit between projects, as drivers and cores are updated, and with the exact hardware version you have. You would need to go through all those details (and possibly others) between your system and Paragon's to find an explanation.
