Re: 8.3.5 versus 7.6

No.

The client doesn't do any of the actual folding work, just handles WU downloads and uploads and provides monitoring and control functions. The actual work is done by the downloaded folding cores and v8 uses the same ones as v7.

Re: 131.239.113.97 : Server responded PLEASE_WAIT (464)

The collection server is set as part of the WU downloaded. If the client is not trying another server, about the only suggestion I have that might work is blocking connections to 131.239.113.97 and seeing if the client does fail over to a designated CS. If it doesn't, then the CS wasn't set in the W...

Re: 131.239.113.97 : Server responded PLEASE_WAIT (464)

A notification has been sent by another about this server being out of space.

There is monitoring. However it doesn't always work

Re: v8.3.4 - Not Folding

... The etc/fah-client/config.xml file content is: <config/> and nothing else. The v8 client only reads an existing config.xml file if one is present from an install of a prior v7 client. It does not store its settings in that file but a client.db file. Not sure what is going on with your install o...

Re: Specific GM107 is unsupported - why?

That ID should be there. Searching the text version - https://apps.foldingathome.org/GPUs.txt - shows this line: 0x10de:0x1380:2:4:GM107 [GeForce GTX 750 Ti] 1389 The v8 client uses a gpus.json file. I checked the file on one of my systems, the entry is there for the GTX 750 Ti: {"vendor":...

Re: New 8.3 beta causing a problem with a cloned machine

The Windows network rename probably is enough. But I have seen cloned systems try to reuse the same network address and other settings that need to be changed.

Re: New 8.3 beta causing a problem with a cloned machine

When installed the client gets an ID assigned the first time it connects to the servers. I do not know where that ID is stored, and it is not based on your hardware.

Re: New 8.3 beta causing a problem with a cloned machine

Uninstall the client completely and reinstall. Also make certain the OS install is renamed differently, a clone may have inherited the same naming and settings. The client can not be cloned, that causes problems by having the same ID as the system it was cloned from.

Re: Specific GM107 is unsupported - why?

It is possible that the Manli branded GTX 750ti was assigned yet another PCI ID number that did not get entered into the GPUs.txt file. Nvidia often does that with each new variant getting another ID even if using the same basic hardware. Directions for finding the PCI ID number are available here -...

Is there a problem that you are wanting to ask about? Otherwise I see no problems reported in the log sections.

Re: cuda not found

You did not mention which OS, but someone reported problems updating the Nvidia drivers on Ubuntu in mid January - viewtopic.php?t=40994. Apparently the driver package with the update was missing headers. Perhaps that will help you in getting your GT 1030 going again.

Re: Failed to send results to work server - 158.130.86.56

I have never seen the error you are getting before, so not certain what is causing it. But it is occurring on your system before an upload connection is opened. From an older log of mine here is an example of the normal sequence: 19:34:13:WU00:FS00:Sending unit results: id:00 state:SEND error:NO_ERR...

From what I have read elsewhere, th group that was th source of new users has reached its goal and moved on. So the active user count is going back to what it was about a month ago.

Re: We gettin short on WU's again?

They had scheduled network maintenance at UPenn, so those servers were offline for a bit this morning. That would have caused a temporary shortage of some type of WUs.
