Re: Where is this going?
The v7 client is certainly a vast improvement in the ease of use category. However the message from PG is mixed. Lets make it easy to get new donors to contribute, but impossible to compete without server class hardware. Granda's 4P 6174 is 8.5 times faster than my C2Qs @ 3.2 Ghz, but is awarded 50 ...

Re: Folding and HP Cloud Service
I got my acceptance email this week. It states the following: We are very pleased to welcome you into the HP Cloud Services private beta, free for a limited time. This is your chance to experience and test HP Cloud Compute and HP Cloud Object Storage. We look forward to your feedback. Please be awar...

Re: core_a4 projects with silly ppd
Hyperthreading and perhaps a larger cache account for the difference.

Re: core_a4 projects with silly ppd
On a 2600K @ 4.8 GHz running v7 in a VM (Ubuntu 10.10), performance on p8004 went from 59,500 ppd to 29,400 ppd. THe average a3 SMP WU on version 6.34 produces about 36,500 ppd. So we've gone from about 63% more than the average a3 WU to 20% less, at least on a 2600K. How? How??? I have a 2500K @ 4...

Re: Standard Loops ???
THe standard loops message is a cosmetic error in the v6 smp and gpu client. Neither will run at all without optimizations. If it bothers you a lot seeing the message in the log, the addition of the -forceasm flag will keep the "standard loops" message from being displayed, but that is all...

Re: core_a4 projects with silly ppd
Add p7014 to the list of overly high producing a4 Wus. Perhaps, all the p7000 to p7028 are over producers.

Re: SMP Frame Times Data Base
I'm thankful I was able to gather a few more ppd to help hold off the 4P crowd on my team a few days longer. There have always been more and less productive WUs and there always will be. I suppose I spend more time than most donors figuring out how to maximize ppd through WU assignment. Now we have ...

Re: SMP Frame Times Data Base
V7 is telling me that 80xx is fixed now. Performance on p8004 a 2600K @ 4.8 is about 24.5 sec/frame and ppd is reported to be ~29,000, down from ~59,600. So this WU went from producing 65% more than the average a3 WU to 18% less. Kfactor changed from 3 to .75. TIme to switch back to v6.34 to avoid 8...

You could try FAHWatch7. It maintains some WU history.

Re: Per-machine/WU web stats
I also said this: "Sadly, HFM doesn't yet work with v7. Development is underway on a new version for v7." I didn't know what version of the client you were running and subsequent posts were about how HFM works with v6 clients, until you said I'll wait on a version that works with v7 of the...

Re: Fastest OS
ALL free VMware products limit the number of cores available on the VM, so if you have more than 4 cores, you have to be sure to get a version that supports the number of cores you need up to 8. If you need more than 8 in a free VM product you have to go to Virtual Box. Oh. I have 8 cores (4 physic...

You sure about that? My recollection of 0.7.0.372 is that it is a network connectivity test version.sco01 wrote:ChasRHFM.Client 0.7.0.372 work with v7HFM doesn't yet work with v7

Re: Per-machine/WU web stats
That is the way v7 networking works and is probably the way HFM will work, when it works.
