Re: Cheapest 40 lane CPU for 4x 1080tis
Right now, running both 1 cpu client with 10 cores and 2 gtx1070s overclocked. Averaging about 1.4 m per day. Waiting on Vega release, to see if I go with Vega or 1080ti. Whole system is watercooled. Cpu and gpus average right 50c.

Re: Cheapest 40 lane CPU for 4x 1080tis
I am running 2 of those xeons in a 2p motherboard. Asrock Rack EP2C612WS. It has 7 PCIe slots and can easily fit 4 1080tis with 80 lanes. You can start with one cpu and as needed add in 2nd cpu. Motherboard is not much more expensive than the gigabyte board.

Re: Adding a 1080 Card to Linux Mint
The beta client does not work well with multi gpus. You have to reset each slot after reboot or shutdown. I am running 2 6 core xeons and to gtx1070s on Mint 18.1. So I have 10 cores available for folding. I never have a problem with getting work. Also, I am running the 7.4.16 client. I would sugges...

Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
I run Mint 18.1 and Nvidia driver 370.28. Driver installation has become a lot better. The xserver that comes with driver does a pretty good job of displaying quite a bit of info for diagnostics. PCIE GEN,whether the card is at 16x or 8x, bandwith usage, temp and clocks. It will also allow you to ove...

Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
Thank you for all the work PS3EdOlkkola. I see you are using Win 7 on all your systems. Have you tried Linux. From my experience with Nvidia cards, I show a significant increase in points on Linux with 2 GTX 1070s. With all your systems, that could be a major increase in points. Just a thought.

Re: WARNING Do not upgrade to 375/376.xx drivers (for xx<48)
I just downloaded 370.28 driver off of Nvidia website. You have to be on Linux when you go to the site. hen I tried Windows 7, I could not find them. Good luck.

Re: MultiGPU problem
This a known problem with the beta 7.4.15. Every restart it will fail to assign the proper slots. Revert back to previous version. I ran 4 gpus on the old version with no problems. I tries the beta version and ran into the same problem.

Re: GPU WU folding on CPU
I like a challenge. Will move over to NV when prices settle down. I tried Ubuntu and it would not allow me to install the drivers. Mint 17.3 allows me to get to the folding stage. The I5 6400 has an IGPU. I tried installing OS with just Intel IGPU and adding other cards and drivers after, then tried...

Started 1st gpu by itself. Downloaded and started folding. Using system monitor, only 1 cpu used for 30 se...

Re: Lubuntu GPU folding - not working
It initializes the xorg config file. But, after reboot I am back to square one. Problem has reemerged. High CPU usage and fahclient asking if I am overclocking. Running everything at stock. Did get to 17% done on GPU before problem.
