Re: Folding@Home GPU Statistics Database
I decided to build another folding system, similar to my #6 system. Here are the specs of my #7 system: cpu: AMD FX-8150 8-core CPU, 3.6GHz MB: ASRock 970 Extreme3 RAM: 8GB (2 x 4GB module), DDR3-1600MHz, Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B gpu0: Gigabyte GTX 660 Ti (GV-N66TOC-2GD), 1201MHz GPU/6010MHz Memory...

Re: 155.247.166.219:8080
Yes, the problem resurfaced, and I had to remove the proxy server, it was causing problems with uploading/downloading. So I am back at the beginning, and we must wait for the problem to be corrected.hisui wrote:have u solved that problem by using proxy or after using proxy for a while the problem resurfaced?

Re: Upload Lost: 129.74.85.15
I'm sure it will turn up before too long. I seem to recall the last time there was a big outage, that it was a day or two before the last of the backlog was cleared up. And the weekend is often the time when a lot of regularly-scheduled maintenance and backups/upgrades are done, so the catching-up ...

Re: 155.247.166.219:8080
I spotted the problem and notified the owner of that server. I was a bit surprised that you suggested that a proxy setting would change anything as long as connections to other servers were working. Apparently that was the wrong idea but I didn't study it carefully. When operating WITHOUT a proxy, ...

Re: Is there an iPhone and iPod Touch Client? [No]
I predict that Stanford will NOT provide a client that uses any kind of emulated x86. Even if there were a "jillion" IOS devices and an equal number of Android devices, everything is currently being aimed at compiler-generated parallel code using native instructions (e.g.-SSE2). Nobody is...

Re: Project 7809 (7, 192, 16) sudden slow down, "about" erro
Odd/Prime numbers like 5 and 7 can normally be used for folding and rarely cause errors. The only time it does cause errors is when a very small project (one with very few atoms) is being folded. Other than that, 5 and 7 should be usable for the majority of projects. OK, I thought I had read somewh...

Re: Is there an iPhone and iPod Touch Client? [No]
Art, did you miss the stated 233 days to complete the WU? That's 0 ppd, even on UNI work units. :( No, I did not miss that, but that was on a different system: I also got v6 to fold on an emulated x86 linux client. If i remember correctly it was would have finished in 233 days. The things to rememb...

Re: Is there an iPhone and iPod Touch Client? [No]
My nexus 10 gets 2.3 GFLOPS using RGbenchmm . The iphone/ipad uses similar hardware so it should be close. OK, but is that 2.3 GFLOPS going to be adequate to complete WUs within the deadline? Possibly, according to the Processor GFlops Compilation table. My very modest (by today's standards) AMD At...

Re: Project 7809 (7, 192, 16) sudden slow down, "about" erro
UPDATE: Now that I look at the progress bar again, I'm beginning to think that there was a glitch regarding the TPF/time left. It was at roughly 71% when I first noticed the problem, but now it's at 73.11% and the pace is up again. I had closed a few tabs in Firefox a few minutes ago, but they had ...

Re: Project 7809 (7, 192, 16) sudden slow down, "about" erro
I had the SMP set to -1 by default, and the Resource Monitor says it's using 6 threads. I tried manually setting it to thus, but it wouldn't let me because the smp in the WU's description is smp:2. The number of threads displayed by Resource Monitor for the FahCore_a4.exe process is greater than th...

Re: Project 7809 (7, 192, 16) sudden slow down, "about" erro
Also, an odd number of cores (5, 7) usually does not work, but 3 cores is usually OK. So, if 2 cores works OK for you, then using 3 cores should also work OK. Plus, smp:3 should (of course) reduce the TPF compared to using smp:2.
