Re: Project 10496 (158,16,66)
Thanks ComputerGenie. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be an obvious correlation. If anyone wants to explore this further... If I ever get something on my Win 7 (Ti) box that isn't 10496 (since your post, I've literally only had 1 WU on this box that was another project), I'll do that and post...

Re: Mining Cards
From what I've read so far, they're essentially a "repackaged" 10xx. Basically, from what I'm seeing, it's the equivalent of a "normal" card with an onboard dongle and outputs removed. My main lingering question is price-point values.

Re: GTX 1070 full potential?
Look about right to me (depending on the RCG for project 10496, 615-630+K is the range that 1080s are getting, so all's definitely good there).

Re: Project 10496 (158,16,66)
Can someone upload a screenshot of the Sensors tab of GPU-Z when running p10496 on a 1080 or 1080 Ti? What are you looking for? I'm interested in seeing the shape of the load graphs. If the GPU load drops on a regular basis and another load graph spikes, it could give some indication of the perform...

Re: Project 10496 (158,16,66)
I've had some of "bad" RCGs hit the 650k range on my 1080 rig that is in my miner room (kept between 60-75F) the same as they have on the rig in my office (kept between 75-90F*), so I'm inclined to say that temperature isn't a project-specific factor**. *Not cooled on my days off, just &qu...

Because of my inner ear issues, I don't hear hardly any of our fan noise.Aurum wrote:It's also great for us tinnitus sufferers

Re: Cheapest 40 lane CPU for 4x 1080tis
Have you confirmed that 4 1080 TIs will fit on double spaced pcie slots? These cards are a lot thicker than the 1080s are. I'm using an open air wooden case so it's not an issue for me. Also be aware that each requires two 8 pin power cables so make sure your PSU has enough. They will "fit&quo...

Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
It's really hard to get an accurate comparison of shielded vs non-shielded because of quality differences. That being said, I ditched all of my old, cheap non-shielded risers and replaces them with the "Thermaltake TT Gaming PCI-E x16 3.0" (looks about the same as the EZDIY version, but a ...

Re: Sporadic issues with 171.67.108.xx servers
1) please reset verbosity to the default value. 2) The key piece of information in that log is GPUs: 0 . Why do you need to restart? Did I miss your answers somewhere? That 0 was do to a clearing of files. Basically, in FAHClient's mind it was a 1st run. Successive boots showed correct # of GPUs. T...

Re: Sporadic issues with 171.67.108.xx servers
If we cannot find out the reason for the stuck download problem, a workaround could be a script which checks every 1 min if a gpu slot is idle then waits for 20 min if it gets running again (max download time is 15min I think until server closes connection). If it is not running again then the FahC...

Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
Looks good. You could put a case fan next to the GPU using cable ties. Or you can make some holes in the case using a drill machine - now you can mount fans. I've actually done that  When I first put my 1 rig in my "miner room", the rack position wasn't ideal for a PC. So I took a s...

Re: Pascal GPU Folding at Stock Clock
Sounds to me like the "Power State" of the card is getting "stuck" on P2 or P8. Next time it happens: note the freq (presumably you're using afterburner or GPUZ to check) open Freecell and minimize it (don't do anything to the game other than open/min) note the freq If that raise...

Re: PCI-e bandwidth/capacity limitations
i shurely reccomend to anyone this kind of risers ... they tested and approved by a lot of cryptominers, and me too. Flexible, with external power connector to reduce powerload through MB, easy to change length by simply changing usb 3.0 cabe. Must have, stongly recomended, etc, etc... :) I have 10...
