You can restrict the number of threads used by Folding, for example to 12 threads - Advanced Control -> Configure -> Slots -> click cpu then Edit, read the descriptions, enter the number of threads you want to use, OK, Save. That should do the trick.

You can open the case of your PC and/or otherwise improve airflow.
And you can lower the # of threads used by Folding - in Advanced Control -> Configure -> Slots -> click cpu then Edit, read the descriptions, enter the number of threads you want to use, OK, Save, done.

Possibly 3. Add a note somewhere recommending not to use the Web control (or as rarely as possible) right now as its constant queries for updates clutter the already overloaded servers. It can take a while until it shows. I had to wait 1-2 days, too. It is probably updated only once a day or less, with a batch.

Maybe someone should send the word that Folding needs rather more servers than more CPU/GPU right now?
LTT just assembled a monster (dual Xeon with 6 Titan) for Folding and called people to do the same. They could as well have set up a few servers, no?
