Galaxy Tab S2 doesn't fold when connected to usb hub

Post by paulb104 »

Hi!

Sometime I plug my Galaxy Tab S2 8.0, SM-T710, into my USB 3.0 hub which is connected to my Windows 10 computer.

When I do, the tablet charges just fine and I can transfer files in either direction just fine.

However, Folding@Home thinks the tablet is not plugged in.

Is there a way to correct this?

Thanks :)

Plug it to an AC charger to fold. I think this is a condition to allow FAH to work (and smartphones and tablets can detect whether you use an AC charger or and USB-like source).

At one time, the client for Android required a phone connection on the device so it wouldn't work on tablets. I don't remember if an enhancement was ever developed so it could use either your WiFi or USB connection. I haven't tried it recently.
