Latest Client/Control needs 18.4LTS or later (linux)?

I install the deb file found directly on the website.
I never do sudo apt get.
however once i did,and it told me I was installing an older version,which I did,with the same error.
It's been on a few Linux installations now, that give me this error, I can't keep track.

Then do an "apt-get install -f"...

The latest os I'm working with (Debian) is using apt, not apt-get.
I'll see if the extensions work there as well.
